THAT is the way you do it.
WTG, Senator.
There are many points in this century where a wrong turn was made. That was one of them. To tell the truth, I did not believe we would get the House back so early in 2018.
Thanks, Drumpf!
(Nancy The Mighty thanks you tooâŚ
)
May be way too early for this kind of thing, but the more people speak out about Schultz it could help to shut him down. And, he is ridiculous, can never have enough money. I hate people like him. Heâs just another version of tRump.
And that kind of leadership has been just stellar the past couple of years!
I wasnât in on Elizabeth Warrenâs candidacy, but she knocked it out the park last night on Lawrence Oâs show. All I felt (in my very humble opinion) was needed was for her to talk more about the tax rate for the rich 1950âs/60âs, and how well off the middle class was in the time that Conald â ĐŻâmp and his woebegone myrmidons keep wishing we could go back to. Tie that to the tax rate sheâs proposing and I think itâll stick more, especially with an older crowd who look askance at that type of talk.
Funny, I thought the Dems lost then because they were too busy running from their accomplishments. You canât get R voters to vote for a D candidate, but you can sure as hell lose D voters by crapping on what they believe in.
Donât forget that Franken wasnât seated for a while. Actually less than two years of 60 votes.
This man has become a punching bag for the Dems
And why does pay-go exclude tax cuts that add trillions to the national debt?
Sheâs right, but I suggest that she should moderate her tone. And itâs NOT because sheâs a woman and will be called shrill. Itâs because there are those in and out of the Democratic Party who want to divide us, principally along supposed progressive/moderate lines, and they want to paint her as some radical. So, say the same things, but dial it back a notch.
Schultz can become a Rallying Cry for Democratic GOTV as an embodiment of Boogyman for Warren and kindred candidates.
Or at least a political version of âThe Washington Generalsâ for Warren to beat up on at will.
All the people working for him made him richâŚ
âWhen I see Elizabeth Warren come out with a ridiculous plan of taxing wealthy people a surtax of 2 percent because it makes a good headline, or sends out a tweet, when she knows for a fact that is not something thatâs ever going to be passed, this is whatâs wrong. You canât just attack these things in a punitive way by punishing people,â [Schultz] said.
When a corporation lays off its employees, massively disrupting and oftentimes ruining the lives of their families, just to pump up their stock price for a handful of ultra-rich shareholders, would Mr. Schultz consider that âa punitive way of punishing peopleâ that should be criticized as wrong and something that âcanâtâ be done?
As for Warren being a potential rival of Schultz or any Republican for President, I know of land out here in the Rockies with gads of gold on it, just waiting for the right personâŚ
Itâs effectively the libertarian platform. Heâs just attempting the same old âIâm socially liberal but financially conservative, arenât I f***ing clever and smarter than everybody elseâ show that libertarians and other self-described âcentrist moderates independentâ have been performing for years.
This is also the kind of a$$hole that enters any and every political discussion with âThe problem is BOTH SIDES are just so extreme and ridiculous!â and gets nodding heads from other self-described centrist moderate independent dullards that value the shallow pretense of being above it all more than actually trying change anything for the better.
OCCUPY was spoiled by a lot of those folks (particularly OCCUPY in Red States)
They are the shape-shifters of politics. They snag people who âwanna DO IT!!!â. They snag folks who want to discriminate as they see fit.
They get people like Grover (government so small you can drown it in a bathtub) Norquist
They get druggies
They get GOPers who like the sound of the word âLibertarianâ
He may be a billionaire to everyone else, but to meâŚheâs just a high-rent covfefe boy.
Howard Schultz, himself an oligarch, needs to brush up on what happens to oligarchs in managed democracies like Russia. First, he has to make a deal with the strongman on retaining his wealth, a protection fee that is an order of magnitude larger than the wealth tax Warren has proposed. Second, he has to stay in favor with the strongman. Say he puts more robots in this coffee shops, making humans redundant. The strongman wonât take the blame, he will. Third, he may see all his assets nationalized if he opposes the strongman.
Of course, maybe he has thought this through and wants to be the strongman. This was the case of the billionaire Orban in Hungary. Orban now spends his days putting down the opposition and ruining what was once a nice place, running it into the ground. Even Putin is no longer riding high after the Crimea annexation. Putin, noticeably, now is just fighting to maintain the status quo. But let an expert explain to Howard:
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Ya know, I canât trust a coffee shop that doesnât sell decent donuts. Pastries? Dang, they canât even describe their cups for the common man as Large, Medium and Small. And in terms of sensitivity, you end up saying âGimme a blondeâ for a mild roast. Just doesnât strike me as right. And this is the house he helped build?
