Happy New Year Chammy and all.
Agree, and I’ll go further – let ALL Democrats kick ass and speak out on the issues. Don’t leave Warren out there hanging, but present a united front to the public or the media will paint her as a far-left loon (they probably will anyway).
Actually, my world does not seem to be as black and white as yours.
She’s 100% correct of course.
If this had been the Democratic message before the mid terms - loud and long - it would not have been the blood bath it was.
I love this Senator - I’ve never been able to say that before.
I completely agree.
And for the doubters…how about we give it a try?
It’s unlikely to turn out any worse.
You tell 'em, Senator!
I’ve always believed that one of the primary (if not the primary) functions of government is to control (regulate) the wretched excess of capitalism.
Seems to me that this country, and the majority of it’s citizens, was much better off when that was recognized.
Self regulation is a joke, if there’s any money involved at all. Doesn’t work, never has worked, and never will work. How many times does it have to be demonstrated?
Tinkle-down.
I don’t disagree. All that I’m trying to point out is that regulations designed to control the excesses of large businesses can often end up protecting those same businesses from smaller competitors. There has to be a recognition that small and big are different.
It’s politically smart as well. Today, small business owners hear Republicans say “less regulation” and they mistakenly think they’re talking about lessening their burden, when really they want to free their big business friends to do bad things. Our side should be doing what it can to get Main St. into our camp.
Keep in mind that conservatives did not regain power because of their nuanced responses. That’s a problem for liberals.
IMHO conservatives have been successful in large part because they portray everything as black and white - no nuance at all. They’re always wrong of course, but Americans seem to be unable to handle shades of grey.
So give them black and white.
I agree that small businesses too often get swept up in the agenda of Big Business, when that agenda is anathema to their best interests. Democrats need to make a better case for why their policies lead to widespread prosperity.
I so look forward to voting for her for president–in 2024.
From your mouth to the goddesses’ ears. I won’t hold my breath waiting for the Dems to speak out but I agree it would be nice.
Or nuclear energy. Boy, if I didn’t have to obey the NRC, I could build a reactor in my barn and power my whole house!
When she’s 74? That’s going to be a hard sell, even with lengthening lifespans. The electorate doesn’t generally support Presidential candidates who are in their 70s. If she wants to be President, and all indications are that she does not, she needs to run now.
Hillary will be 69 in 2016. Warren is just 2 years younger
Actually . . .
Yes, which is why this is also Hillary’s last shot and why Joe Biden probably has no shot. He’s 74 in 2016.
Small vs. Big is pretty black and white.
It’s like she’s reading my fucking mind. God I wish I could write her a speech with her promise to say every word of it haha
Check out what the Skunkworks team is doing. Pretty exciting stuff.
