I think they’re still using the same pollsters that Romney used. HAHHAHAAA

well go to the rude pundit for his take on KY and why there voteing the way they are it may or not surprise you it is KY after all

Another well thought out article by Ed Kilgore. Thanks.

I only hope it helps to allay the belief that Republican’t Senate control, ‘wouldn’t be that bad.’

A particularly unflattering pic of McTurtle

Is there any other sort?

One of the mistakes made by the people who are making these predictions, IMO, is assuming that dissatisfaction with the Democrats will translate directly into more votes for Republicans. There are a lot of us who may not be happy with Obama & the Democrats in general, but would prefer a fork in the eye over voting Republican.

Last I checked, even Wang has 50-50 as the most likely outcome. So it’s not like we’re talking counter-wave in the Dem direction (though I wish we were).

It still boils down to consolidating the states, NH, Iowa and NC, that are leaning Dem, while getting one more state to come along. Alaska seems most likely; Kansas is a happy wildcard; Arkansas, Louisiana or Georgia are possibilities.

One of those five states will do the trick so long as the states we’re ahead in hold.

This must be why ‘Chicken little’ duck and turn tell running as fast as he can away from Grimes who he was suppose to debate in October…

McConnell is a punk-a!@ coward…

The Dems will reveal their innner collaborators, just like in the run up to the Iraq war, so McConnell doesn’t have that much to worry about. If Dems fought as hard as republicans do, then he’d be in trouble, but milquetoast is what we’ll get from the Dems.

That’s a lot of wishful thinking. You may end up having flipped a tails and get 2014 right, but the future is looking bleak for the Republican party unless there’s a sizable shift in their appeal towards growing demographics. As in, stuff that appeals to people who aren’t old (or outright dying), white, male, rich and Christian. There’s far too much party division for any of that to occur in the near future, and people outside the GOP aren’t going to be dumb enough to buy the massive flip-flopping that’s going to occur when the GOP finally realizes it’s been painting itself into a corner for 30+ years and they all of a sudden can’t win a national election.

Last night Maddow did a segment on how all the polling groups are moving closer to Democratic Party advantage, especially with what is going on in Kansas. Wang’s Princeton group has increased Democrats holding the Senate to 78%.

Replying to the latest beej sock isn’t worth your time since he’s not gonna engage you in any sort of reasonable coherent debate with any evidence to back up his position. All he’s looking for are replies from posters upset at his sharp stick derp.

Ah, I didn’t know that was its latest handle. I just assumed a new follower of the derp may have slithered in. There’s been a minor influx of them via some outside site linking them to specific articles here lately.

beej is readily identifiable by his poor spelling and grammar. Additionally beej only drops in to post really outrageous derp that he hopes will draw people off topic and distract them from having a meaningful conversation

The swarms of newbies that we sometimes see from social media are typically one trick ponies who are drawn only to a specific topic whereas beej likes to post his derp across several topics.

beej is not really even annoying anymore, just a sad pathetic loser in everything he does.

Is there not one stock photo of McConnell where he looks decent. My God, he’s got a face only a mother could love.

The question was:
Did you just fart McConnell?
Pic’s worth a thousand words. lol
and NO, he won’t ever be majority leader of the senate.
EVERrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I know 5 minutes of your time to vote is asking a lot but…

I don’t know. Tens of millions are dumb enough to vote for Reaganomics for 34 years. You really can fool some people all the time.

Well, have you considered that the Republican position is just more popular? I thought today’s NYT had a good article where they actually talked to a middle-aged woman in Kentucky who worked a $9 per hour job who was sick and received Medicaid for the first time. She’s still voting Republican. Why?

  1. Disagreement with President’s “anti-coal” policies.

  2. Lifetime republican.

  3. President is responsible for rancor in the country.

Other Kentucky voter thought $460 per month for health insurance for two 60 year olds was too much.

I’ve voted for Democrats before out of party loyalty. Why is that so bad for Republicans?

I can see why a person in Kentucky would be unhappy with the President’s policies on coal.

Less rational is the 60 year old who objects to paying $230 per month per person for health insurance. Remember, people just five years older get gold-plated healthcare for free. For a working class or lower-middle-class person, $460 per month doesn’t seem like a favor. I can understand that, too.

The “president is responsible for the rancor in the country” is probably an aspect of hidden racism by the voter fanned by the Republican race-baiting machine. How deep that runs with an individual voter is open to debate too.

Working on turnout is huge, but I wouldn’t throw up my hands and dismiss people like the $9 per hour medicaid expansion recipient as an ignorant hillbilly. We need to keep talking the issues. Do you want to keep your Medicaid or not? Do you want reduced price insurance or no insurance at all?

Here’s an idea: organize a vote to increase the O-care subsidies. Let Mitch filibuster it. Paradoxically, that’s a lot more deadly to the Republicans than pointing out that they voted to repeal iO-care entirely umpteen times. Campaign ads along the lines of: “What would you have done with the $75 Mitch took from your wallet?”

Oh damn right I’ll vote! I’m just saying that after so many election cycles, I know what to expect from Dems, and it isn’t a fight to the death on principles or even a whimper, no it’ll be all comity and backslapping as they vote for noxious shit like the Iraq war, bank bailouts, rich fucker protection acts, patriot acts and all the other loads of republican spew they’ll be deep throating in the name of bipartisanship and the “longstanding” gentlemanly traditions of the senate.
