Discussion for article #227571
Thank you for continuing to run the stories of just some of the many shootings - accidental or tragically intentional - that occur every day in the US because of the unnecessarily broad proliferation of guns here. They must stop being invisible for people to realize just how much of a price we pay for this.
But, but… The NRA said that arming teachers was a good idea!!
Wait, was she the good guy with the gun or the bad guy with the gun? I’ve lost track.
Why did I have a male teacher pictured in my mind?
She was aiming for her head?
Couldn’t stand the thought of dealing with kids?
Wanna place a bet on which state with armed faculty/staff is the first to wound/kill a student?
Gives an entirely new meaning to SNL’s famous “Colon Blow”
Nobody (else) will be shooting up this classroom. No telling how many lives were saved by this teacher’s sacrifice.
The State Legislature here in Arizona a couple of years ago tried to get a bill passed to allow (nay…demand) professors on our college campuses and in our college classrooms to be armed. They included students as well. I would hope every member of the Arizona State Legislature would read this article and then contemplate what the outcome of that bill would have been had Gov. Brewer not rightly vetoed it.
So the teacher was the “good guy” in this instance?
Guys keep all kinds of contraband in/near their pockets:
Guns, snacks, pull toys.
“Officials are still investigating how the gun discharged.”
This is how guns work.
First you have to get your hands on one.
Then you pull the trigger - doesn’t really matter how. Use a finger, use a toe, drop it just so.
Bonus points for pointing it at yourself.
But keep this in mind - it’s impossible to accidentally shoot yourself without the first step.
It’s time to sue a school district for this as a way to challenge the conceal carry law and the legality of having guns wherever the fuck you want to take them. How long will this madness and paranoia continue?
The Arizona Legislature tried to pass a law allowing guns in college classrooms but our gov. Brewer vetoed it. (thankfully) So currently we are out of the (legal) running.
Sometimes there the hand of a 2 yr old in that pocket.
She may have shot her own leg, but at least she’s safe from the teeming masses of armed HS kids and disgruntled fellow teachers, right?
So the magic underwear isn’t bulletproof.
Does not matter, being in the bathroom is always a “timeout” situation. Sadly the poor gun did not want to be in there with her or perhaps did not like what he saw in there.
I’m just thankful this idiot wasn’t in the classroom or in the immediate vicinity of children when the gun went off. Unfortunately, the children of her school have been subject to her stupidity and fear for who knows how long.
