Discussion: Ed Whelan Takes Leave Of Absence After Inflammatory Tweet Thread

All I can say is that “Ethics and Public Policy Center” is a very gross misnomer for Whelan’s organization.

“…the ethical thing to do?” At the Ethics and Public Policy Center? Surely you jest.

Lutz most likely generated the bullshit moniker.

I think the rejection of his resignation was to save face. I think he took the leave of absense as cover to look as though he did nothing wrong OR they hope all this dies down. I think in the month he’s away he’ll still behave like the dirty rat that he is and do the same shit but behind the scenes. I also feel in the end he will not return to the job.

I also wonder what the criteria is to get a job in the ethics department (and keep it!). Whelan clearly showed he has none.

There’s a reason we don’t run our system of Justice on beliefs. It would lead to travesty. No one gives a shit what this partisan thinks or believes. Nothing has to pass his belief test to be legitimate.

One wonders how that meeting went:

Chairman: “Wait until it all blows over?”

Board Members: “aye” “aye” “aye” “aye” “aye” “aye” … “nay”

Chairman: “WHO said NAY?!?!”

Board Member: “………………………….aye?”

Chairman: “the aye’s have it. Meeting adjourned. Let’s meet for apple crisp and decaf coffee in the sex dungeon………."

You really want to atone for your sin? Tell us who else enabled this fiasco.

Didn’t know who he was until this all broke. More light on this guy, please.

Given a paid vacation is more like it. Note they didn’t call it leave without pay. They rejected his resignation so it’s more likely they’re rewarding him than punishing him.

Hope this is not true SHIT SHIT

I wonder the same thing.

Good point.

Perhaps, but public libel/slander like this is worthy of a payment for reputational harm caused…unless he already got one of those ahead of time, of course.
