88 Billion?

Seems pretty steep

Yeah, 88 BILLION must be wrong. 8.8 Billion would seem kinda steep, but probably closer to being accurate. Must be a typo.

It was 88 million, which seemed steep enough to me.

The reason it seems too much is because the paper was placed up for auction. The bidding drove it up that high. Not sure if you are aware of the internal fight of the major owners of the media group. This wound up in court and the end result was a bidding war.

Oh, the world of the idle rich. Hang out in cafes by day. Attend cocktail parties by night. Buy a newspaper. You know, the usual stuff.

Rendell had already committed to a Sunday morning fundraiser at a Philadelphia synagogue and said he was worried he wouldn’t make it back on time if he had joined Katz.

And as it turned out, he most certainly wouldn’t have. Wow. Sometimes your number just isn’t up.
