Then on to the US which will require onward extradition proceedings meaning that he has to be extradited from the US and Sweden for offenses that were almost certainly committed while he was in the Embassy.

I doubt Assange’s death will come as a result of any country’s legal process.
That’s tantamount to booting him. No one is asking for Assange’s execution. ( The UK like the rest of the civilized Europe does not employ the death sentence or extradite anyone that might face it ) . The UK never would have extradited him if such a threat existed so this is nothing new.
He’s wanted for failure to appear in the UK and will be hauled off to jail as soon as he sets foot out of that Embassy. Ecuador knows that. At this point they don’t give a shit and just want the asshole out of their embassy. So they concoct up this lame spin. No extradition to face the death sentence. But that does not stop the UK from shipping him UPS or FedX to the USA if they promise not to nuke the puke. Julian Assange has worn out his welcome.
