Discussion for article #230845
I blame Obama.
:P: Well I was sure Darcy would be the first to comment with some ugly remark. OI am sure he’ll be along any minute now to talk about Obama and Wall Street
321,000 jobs in November plus upward revisions in September and October totaling 44,000 extra jobs those months. That’s a total of 365,000 new jobs added. The average workweek also increased to 34.6 hours/week and hourly wages increased by 9¢ so no on can say these were all part time minimum wage jobs. Overall, this was a very good report.
See “I blame Obama”. Can’t let that upbeat news go to waste!
As long as it’s adding and not subtracting like in a former administration had going on that is good news,IMHO. And may I add had there been a cooperative congress the numbers would have been off the charts every month.
Also note that the November report is much higher than Wall Street had expected. That Obama character really sucks at Marxism, doesn’t he? When is his destruction of America program finally going to kick in? This unconscionable delay could imperil the third term.
If only Obama had focused on the economy when he got elected.
Maybe instead of whining about perceived past mistakes, Schumer should take to the floor of the Senate and spend a few hours reading back the quotes of all the Republican elected officials (and non-elected for that matter, Reince) who predicted doom and gloom and economic catastrophe when The President with the help of Democrats in Congress allowed tax cuts for the top 2% to expire two years ago this month.
Quite frankly, the Democrats should be screaming from the rooftops that since letting those tax cuts expired, the economy has taken off quite nicely. Maybe we should raise their taxes more.
How can you all just sit there and act like things are all peachy because of a few insignificant numbers on the economy when there’s a freaking WAR ON CHRISTMAS™!?
Not to mention Benghazi!, Ebola, and the war of Marriage.

I for one am counting off the days until Owebama’s job-killing reign of terror is over.
Just two more years until we get a REAL president
Yes, jobs being added but I’d love to find out from those hired what they are being paid. I bet the majority is being paid less than $10 an hour with no benefits and less than 40 hours a week.
I suppose it’s always good to have something coming in but when it’s an income that one can hardly live off of there’s really nothing here to celebrate.
We are now living in an era where employees are overworked and underpaid. And this is done intentionally because employers want to get bigger profits to buy bigger/more toys.
I have a friend who works at a company that built this big glass building for their headquarters (one they didn’t really need) and now employees who are due a raise aren’t getting it, they are being told to clean their work area, the office and wash the execs wine glasses and coffee cups.
The staff was sent an email to make sure the bathroom is clean, that the kitchenette is a luxury.
Like I said, more work and less pay.
And we have a working class populace hell-bent on demonizing labor unions and electing corporate shills, because something about Benghazi and Obummer taking their guns or something.
Coming from the queen of ugly remarks.
It’s called Christmas and part-time seasonal work. January will show the same ho hum 220K jobs per mo. Wake me when most of them are full-time living wage jobs. Until then, six years in, it’s the same Hope & Change BS.
EDIT: What, no cheap shots at my wife? I’m waiting …
Think Progress adds some detail:
"The economy also created 44,000 more jobs in September and October
than the BLS had previously reported. The unemployment rate has fallen
by 1.2 percentage points since the beginning of the year, the BLS said.
The retail sector added 50,000 jobs, second to the 86,000 added in
the professional and business services category. Health care jobs rose
by 29,000, manufacturing jobs rose by 28,000, and the food service
sector added 27,000 jobs. The financial and construction industries
added 20,000 jobs each, and the logistics, warehousing, and
transportation sector added 17,000."
I imagine more-detailed reports will come as well, but so far it seems like a good report.
I too blame Obama for the fact that the unemployment rate did not fall. But I credit the dynamic new Republican congress for the addition of 321,000 new jobs.
