haha! wish there was something there, but no. He received a grant for football. He’s huge. Offensive lineman. That’s why our argument was over the safe distance of email and not in person. My momma didn’t raise no dummy! 
edit: Ivy league schools do not give out sport scholarships, for those who do not know. they give “grants”…essentially the same thing, but not really.

In my little corner of the world, Charlottesville-Albemarle County, VA, the economy has been booming for a few years now. There is construction of all kinds everywhere – housing (houses, apartment complexes, student housing), business expansion, new businesses, infrastructure (big-time). The University of VA–already an enormous presence here–has been expanding for the last six years and there is no end in sight. The hospital systems here are doing gangbuster business. Enormous strides in medical technology. There is a big influx of people moving to the region.
When I hear naysayers talk about the economy, I bring up these facts. They can’t deny them because part of their bitching is the fact things are changing at such a fast pace. That part, I understand and sympathize with to a degree because I would like to see better long-term growth planning … but it is what it is at the moment. And what it is, is not economic stagnation or decline.

Noted. I have a few in my own immediate family. Not dumb people, by any means … but partisan as hell with a bit of racism thrown in there.
Krugman’s column today points out that a lot of republicans are saying since they will vote for Hillary, she should turn right a bit. But he points out that right wing economic policies never do as well and almost always bring the economy down and deficit up.

My daughter works for recruiting company. For months now they have been having a hell of a time recruiting at the bottom end of the pay scale. Pressure is mounting on employers to raise wages. That will heat up the economy.
The economy is rigged.

Construction is usually a good indicator and from where I sit and all the way back to Cali, it as good as ever.
We have 3 lumber yards in town, one just opened-a good sign, one is remodeling-another good sign and the last one is remodeling and expanding it’s lines to top of the line tools-a great sign.
Here’s another good sign, I’m building for my investment broker who’s doing very well and she’s just flipping my profit back into my investments, which are doing very well.

Thanks, of course just by taking my construction gains and buying stocks, I am diversifying because I used to just sink it all back into the business.
Plus, my broker/lady friend is a friend that got my account because I wanted someone more connected to my situation and that cared that I was doing as well as possible. She does steady updates and we adjust.
In turn I build on the cheap for her. It’s a legal quid pro quo.
