So he’s the Douglas Feith of the economics game?
Wait! Didn’t he correctly predict 10 out of the last 5 recessions? He’s a genius!
Whose motorcycle is that?
It’s Fed’s.
Who’s Fed?
Fed’s dead, baby, Fed’s dead.
He used Trump’s name in his book title — Trumpinomics! Nothing else matters to Donnie. He must be a genius!
Must be a day that ends in “y”
Dow:
Think Larry Kudlow, then subtract honestly, common sense and intellectual horsepower
Now that is scary.
Horrible is obviously an understatement, but we could take solace that political opinion writing is going to get much more visceral and sarcastic. Just look at what has happened with the Brexit death-spiral in the UK yesterday. (Do not, under any circumstances, read on a full bladder!)
And so to the latest scenes in the Brexit farce. The formula for successful farce-writing, as laid down in the 19th century, is to get your character up a tree in the first act, throw stones at them in the second, then get them down in the third. As far as Brexit goes, the UK went up the tree voluntarily, and has now been throwing human waste at itself for two and a half years. Does anyone want to come and get us down? Sorry, it’s quite … disgusting up here now.
Trump just cast a very large rock at the normal economics community.
If TPM persists in ignoring economic and financial news like this, I’m quitting my membership. @mattshuham
You have this. You have the reversal of sanctions on Kim. You have Charlottesville schools being closed for 2 days b/c of white nationalist threats. These are the stories shaped by Trump that actually matter, not what Rudy is feeding the press on the Mueller beat.
It’s quite likely that the Republican’s plan is to thoroughly sabotage the U.S. economy under the assumption that the Democrats will win in 2020. When the economy crashes, the Democrats will get the blame (even if the crash occurs before the next President is inaugurated) and then all they have to do is obstruct any effort by the Dems to clean up the mess they (the Republicans) created.
It’s a simple, yet highly effective plan that the Republicans are able to use again and again simply because most Americans are far too stupid to see through it. This is why the Republicans are doing nothing to prevent Trump from instituting so many obviously disastrous policies. Even though they claim to oppose these policies, they’re secretly enjoying the fact that the looming disaster Trump is bringing on us all will ensure their return to power soon after losing it next year.
Is he on TV and does he support Trump? Yes? Then he’s qualified.
He is a human wrecking ball.
Not only is Moore NOT a reputable economist, he barely plays a bad one on TV.
We just posted the single largest monthly budget deficit, at the top of the economic cycle no less…
Here is the Kochsucker’s Magnum Opus
Yes, it’s that Laffer acting as his wingnutman…
Pfffft. Democrat elites who hate Trump are afraid the economy will get Even BETTER than it already is, and it’s already the GREATEST ever in history.
Every nanosecond Trump remains in office he’s a direct threat to the Security of the United States.
Will nothing ever wake up the Republicans to this?
Dum dee dum, another day, another move closer to dictatorship. What’s the big deal? North Korea has been without food or electricity for decades, and they’re still in love with their leader.
Trump’s mental illness and his need for validation is getting worse. Here a C level intellect (Kudlow) gave Trump the name of a D level intellect (Moore) but this is what we are getting with Trump at this point. It used to be that we had Carry Cohen around to push for a good candidate (Powell) now we have a TV hac (Kudlow) who is just doing whatever he thinks will jolly Trump up for another TV cycle.
