Discussion: Durbin: Pentagon Plans To Tap $1B In Military Pay, Pensions For Trump's Wall

I want to know exactly what Trump is going to DO with the money when he gets his grubby little hands on it. Is there any plan at all?

I am mocking these gun totting NRA punks who show up at rallies with their bang bangs .They march against unarmed folks but will not enlist simply because the other side will return fire.

Iā€™m sure this gives Putin a grin.

I love the sentiment, but the only emergencies in either Medicare or Social Security are the same with the Wallā€¦ Republican intransigence.

A few Democrats have the courage to do that. Unfortunately they are mostly young women too young to be president or run for president. We need a courageous Democrat to run for president. I see maybe 2 Democrat women who may have that courage and honesty who are running. No men?

Nobody loves veterans more than me!

Sounds like the military budget may be a tad over inflated if they can do that kind of juggling. Maybe itā€™s time to revisit that series of line items and make some judicious cuts that might be redistributed to healthcare, housing, education and protection of Social Security.

We support the troops, however, they need not get paid they volunteered nor do they need a pension they serve their time, just die already.

Youā€™d think that would alienate most of the traditional Republican vote.

This is something the Democrats should mention, often, in 2020. It could swing some votes in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arizona. At least.

ā€œThis is pay that would have gone to Army recruits that we canā€™t recruit,ā€ Durbin said. ā€œSo thereā€™s a ā€˜savingsā€™

maybe many might be better served by giving the money to the underfunded VA?
Hey Pentagon, why are you rolling over for this TRAITOR? Didnā€™t in the olden days you guys used to be against that kind of thing?

Why are you bringing your rational planning and sensible strategy to this?

youā€™d think with all the gun love and giant flags and eagles on their trucks that the army would be chock-full and turning more away

Unconstitutionally taking money appropriated for military pay to build a wall we donā€™t need?
Delusional. Vanity. Project.

I think Colbert described this saga correctly when he described it as binge watching the fall of the Roman Empire.

Iā€™d like to laugh, but that actually gave me chills.

Why is it their chins look larger than their brains?

I get the feeling they no longer care about slapping s coat of paint on their corruption. Their aver-shrinking base certainly doesnā€™t care.

This, BTW, is the guy who thought he could escape legal jeopardy by letting a black activist take over his neo-Nazi organization, at least nominally. Or so he thought. Dim bulb, indeed.

I donā€™t care if that money is sitting around unused. We should beat the son of a bitch over the head with taking troops pay to get his border wall.
