Discussion for article #222618

How dare they? I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent and then some.

A few decades ago I was going to grad school in SE Idaho and the snowmobilers from Utah
would come up on winter weekends and just ride wherever they wanted, destroying ranch fences,
chasing cows and deer who were struggling with the cold, deep snow and finding food. Seems not
much has changed.

These people are anarchists plain and simple. Either the rules apply to everybody, or they apply to nobody. Each and every one of them should be arrested and fined $10,000. Enough of this nonsense.

I read somewhere this morning that law enforcement planned to get the names of all who trespassed (flaunted the law). I hope they fine or jail everyone of them with the highest punishment possible.

Well, in the absence of Cap’n Commonsense, fuck these people.

“The Wild Ones.”

Do the county and state authorities have any jurisdiction here, or is it strictly a federal matter?

such manly men… they’re gonna show that black man who’s really boss around these here parts.
friggin scumbags. note that they aren’t riding around their ranches tearing up their fields.

OK. Enough of this shit. The BLM should simply go out there and arrest them! If they’ve got guns, and don’t immediately surrender, assume the assholes are dangerous and shoot them. As ex-Army, I can guarantee that these people would run like hell at the first shot. They are basically all mouth and no balls!

These people need to learn the age old lesson of: Do the crime, do the time

My hope is that they are all prosecuted, with the same sentencing that Tim DeChristopher received for his act of “civil disobedience” in disrupting the Bush BLM gas leases. Wouldn’t that be some sweet Karma?

They want frontier justice, then I say give it to them. Find them and execute them.

So they have a right to have their opinions heard? I wonder, do they feel the same about same-sex marriage?

Pretty sure that several of them (at least) were Mormon and so much following the Doctrines and Covenants regarding being law-abiding.

Ah, here it is: the rise of the Bundyites. Please, please, please, let some First Nations start expanding their pens, excuse me, reservations and we’ll see just how fast these folks run to the feds to stop them.

…and this is why those Bundy inbreds should have been arrested instantly.

“BLM Utah State Director Juan Palma, in a statement, says the riders may have damaged artifacts and dwellings that are up to 2,000 years old.” Where was federal law enforcement while this was going on? There was plenty of advance notice, so why were there no law enforcement officers (BLM, Marshal’s Service, or others) to stop them? I know that eventually the weight of the federal government will come down on these people, but why are they allowed to ignore the law when they could be stopped easily?

The Bundy clan’s chest-thumping ‘call to arms‘ amounts to Whiskey Rebellion redux … i.e., lawlessness and self-serving grandstanding under the guise of a patriotic fight against “tyranny”.

Like jet skis in a no wake area these fruit loops need to get hit in the wallet.

A little property forfeiture sounds appropriate. Can’t ride responsibly, then we’ll sell these shiny toys to someone who can.

It’s appalling how selfish and thoughtless, some people can be. They don’t give a damn about whether or not they may have destroyed ancient artifacts of Native Americans.

There are plenty of places where they can ride their ATVs, were they won’t cause damage. I hope every one of them is prosecuted and their ATVs impounded.
