My point exactly. A distinction without (much of) a difference. A crook is a crook.

Apparently his downfall had everything to do with being on the cover of Menā€™s Health. In the interview I heard he mentioned that about half a dozen times.

He was considered a good congressman in his district (his grasp of ag issues was phenomenal) but his entire tenure was plagued with personal scandals, far more than the odometers and office decor items which are always rehashed. He sold his Illinois house to a campaign contributor for an inflated price (today its estimated worth is $200k less than what was paid in 2012). He had a sleazy little side business scalping tickets which were made available to members of Congress. The national press was surprised when he quickly resigned, but if he had stayed in office and claimed he had made only ā€œpaperwork errorsā€ there was so much more that could have been aired.

I was disappointed with Morning Joeā€™s fawning and sympathetic interview with Schock. I think he got an unbelievably and unjustifiably good deal. The consequence of misuse of public funds should not go unaccounted for personally. the campaign suffers nine. Schock deserves a felon label.

ā€œSure I was a young, arrogant politician obsessed with personal appearance and a grand office, but those are just character traits of a man who, while careless with taxpayer money and not always entirely truthful, has a real shot at the presidency right now.ā€

brilliant

yeah, itā€™s not like he got an overpriced dinette set for the office or a cone of silence or anything, just a kid getting his hands on some real money for the first time in his life and forgetting how to fill out a few pesky form while an elected official

Maybe the lesson learned here is grifty or publicity hound, pick one.

Perhaps a seasoned videographer like yourself can create a training film for politicians listing doā€™s and donā€™ts.
Use the publicity hound handpuppet - like MacGruff the crime dog. I know you have political contacts, shop the idea around. Somebodyā€™s making money off those jury duty videos, you might as well skim some of that gravy.

What, you donā€™t like to see fraud described as filling out paperwork wrong?

Some of my political contacts would ask me whether Iā€™m not in fact helping to make politicians better at being bad. On the other hand I do need to start working on things that are done in a series rather than all one-offs. If you want to be a corner-cutting pol thereā€™s a lot to know. Thank you this is a much better idea than mushroom cooking tips.

No Trump administration corruption here. Move along.

Stormy Daniels has done some damage to the image of mushrooms as something you want on your plate.

Haha 'm sure the industry didnā€™t jump for joy over all that but as an individual who enjoys eating them and pretty near considers them a staple Iā€™ve got it compartmentalized pretty well. If Iā€™m eating homemade ravioli stuffed with duxelles all I can think about is how very happy I am.

I was thinking more along the lines of
ā€œIf you see a lot of forms, and they ask questions about your finances - put in the real amounts. Honest answers are valued by constituentsā€ and then a little pleasant 'dingā€™ as we see Joe Freshman filling out his tax returns.
ā€œGot those gas miles coming to you? Driving to meetings with your constituents is a good use of those funds. (pleasant ding) Donā€™t use them to go to Aspen - unless Aspen CO is in your district.ā€

If youā€™re against the handpuppet idea, what about some community theater actors? They come cheap.

Is your mushroom piece online for viewing?

Havenā€™t done any! Thinking of pitching an outfit down the road though. Itā€™s kind of a high-end outlet store for a mushroom producer and they do a couple cooking demonstrations a month. Plus Iā€™m sure they could create content on their own. Their marketing manager once told me that while the intact ring between stem and cap on button mushrooms means theyā€™re fresh, thatā€™s not necessarily the peak of flavor. Tips like that are good stuff IMHO.
