Discussion: Dowd: Trump Approved Of Statement Calling For Shutdown Of Mueller Probe

"Initially, Dowd told reporters that he made the statement on behalf of Trump, but later walked that back, saying he was
speaking for himself. Later on Saturday, Trump mirrored Dowd’s remarks, tweeting that the investigation “should never have been started.”

This White House is worried about leaks. They have a bigger concern in trying to keep their stories together.

The sharks are circling. There’s blood in the water…the question is…who is bleeding? I’m afraid it’s oozing from the wounds to our democracy.

In this analogy, I hope Mueller’s probe is a school of pissed off dolphins that is about to whack the crap out of the less-than-great whites.

Thank you for sharing that important piece of information and subjecting yourself to disciplinary proceedings by sharing client confidences with the press. I call that a twofer.

Wouldn’t Trump would need to file a complaint for him to be sanctioned, since Trump could have given permission? I see a complaint as unlikely.

Dowd’s an idiot. After he quits, he “sets the record straight” a second time by repudiating his first walk back? Say what?

Dowd is Trump’s personal lawyer, supposedly paid by the Trump Empire. What are the chances of Dowd ever being paid in full for his services? Especially after this statement?

We never doubted that for a minute Dowd…it was the stumbling and bumbling and reversing and insisting that we found ‘worrisome’.

Note to self: Do not hire John Dowd if charged with obstruction of justice.

am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.

Just incredible. He’s demented.

Say it ain’t so but I’m getting a sense that Dowd’s job was simply to lie for Cheetolini. Then re-lie or un-lie, depending on circumstances and the whim of his Orangeness. He’s quite the specialist - really impressive reputation.

Dowd always seemed like a rather disgusting person and attorney.

And, with diGenova and Toensing, he has upped the disgust level, and added some crazy and potentially dangerous ideas. Still not equal to his own, but moving the dial.

Yet another victim who expected the Big Boss to back them up, then failed to roll double sixes.

you forgot the thank you for piercing the attorney-client privilege veil for Mueller  I especially like that one.

And GOP leadership will continue to say there’s no need to protect Mueller because there’s no threat to him.

Ohhh, for a functioning press that would hammer them like they would if the parties were reversed…

Is he truly angling for DACA support by claiming he’s their White Knight?

Bourbon must be cheaper if I buy it by the barrel, yes? That and a real long straw.

He may not be much of an attorney, but he made some really suspenseful movies.

Sorry, I appear to have lost my mind ever since I heard about the latest firings and hirings.

So was Dowd lying then or is he lying now?

It’s a trick question- the important point is that he’s a liar.
