The White House has ethics advisors?

Only because they have no choice.

One source familiar with the conversations told the Wall Street Journal that Dowd thought the funds would keep the men from flipping on the President by cooperating with prosecutors.

Even with Trump’s presidency and (hopefully) freedom on the line, his lawyer lowballed potential flippers with a $25K offer. You’d think the going rate to keep quiet about Trump’s crimes would at least equal the going rate ($150K) for keeping quiet about having sex with him.

Dowd is about to be flipped by Mueller. We know Trump told him to do this.

JFC, this was the adult lawyer in the room.

ETTD, and that apparently includes John Dowd’s brain.

Trump’s ethics advisors are probably Betsy DeVos, Jared, and Don Jr.

“I care about a lot of people. I was offended as a citizen and a lawyer,” about the treatment of Gates and Manafort."

:joy::joy::joy:Oh, bullshit. You people aren’t capable of being offended. You were trying to buy their silence and failed. I hope you lose your bar card.

I miss the days, when John Dowd was known for that Pete Rose report. #ThanksDonald

Recall that Dowd last December claimed that he ghost-wrote this tweet below. (Though someone did: the capitalization and the punctuation are correct.) You’re right that Dowd has reason to look to Mueller for help avoiding liability for obstruction.

Yes, the White House has ethics lawyers, and they know that directing funds to someone to keep them from flipping is obstruction of justice. It is criminal and will get your law liscense pulled. That Dowd would even suggest this is mindbogling.

If true, then Dowd was involved in a crime, and mueller will interview him, and the bar should open an investigation.

Why this would come out now is what is interesting? What is the angle on leaking this? It clearly came from trump’s legal team, unless “John Barron” is the source. The dottard easily could have told someone that Dowd wanted to buy off gates and manifort but “his staff in the deep state” prevented it, and look what happened.

John Dowd cares deeply. The man is a saint. So let us show our true Christian nature and treat him as a saint should be treated: let’s burn him at the fucking stake!

“create narratives…that the president was connected to the crimes.”

“We don’t want stories about our crimes getting constructed out of bare facts.”

Does the Trump team ever do anything that ISN’T obstruction of justice?

‘White House advisers reportedly told Dowd that the contribution would create narratives that the White House was seeking to interfere with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe and that the President was connected to the crimes.’ Wowee…they must be ripping out their eyebrows every time Donnie tweets then…

Either way, how odd that these so-called ethicists offer prudential arguments rather than pointing out it would be wrong and in violation of any number of professional rules of conduct. Probably attended the GOP School of Ethics where they teach you to have none.

Well, that isn’t a problem anymore.

I understand from various sources that Dowd was also witness tampering and shopping pardons to Russian confederates and traitors. Dowd should be brought to justice for his crimes. No one should be above the law.
