Discussion: Donald Trump's Net Worth Is Reportedly $9 Billion

Incompetent, overeager candidates with too much money include Fiorina who says she and husband are worth $59 million. Or as David Corn asks rhetorically

Can a CEO Who Laid Off Thousands, Botched a Merger, and Left With $21 Million Become President?

I think what he means to say is he has 9 billion. He isn’t WORTH a shit.

He’s worth all that, but has no problem “chaptering” businesses he owns when profits are disappointing, leaving suppliers to scramble for pennies on the dollar and dumped employees to look for new jobs. When a middle-class person goes bankrupt, no loans for 7-10 years. When Trump declares bankruptcy on one of his businesses, banks are lining up the next day to lend him money for his next folly.

Taking into account the economy and Wall Street’s ups and downs for the last fifty years, The Donald is still leap years behind Thurston Howell, III.

Great news! Maybe he should make good to some of the creditors he fucked over in multiple bankruptcy proceedings!

a YUGE profit.

Hasn’t he been bankrupt?
I remember years ago he came into a small town around here, made a million promises about a casino, and then it all dissolved. Supposedly he couldn’t get credit.
I think he’d say, his companies file for bankruptcy, but he’s solvent… but it doesn’t make a lot of sense. If he said he still had 9 million, sure, but 9 billion?

His ex-wives should all sue him for hiding assets. That would be fun!

I don’t believe it either. What assets does he own? What stocks?
I remember when The Apprentice was going big, he said that was his major source of income, a reality TV show.

" ‘The Apprentice’ host has been suspected of trumping up his net worth in the past. He told a New York Times reporter in 2005 that he was worth “five to six” billion dollars, while three unidentified individuals with direct knowledge of The Donald’s finances told the same reporter they believed his net worth was actually somewhere between $150 million and $250 million."

His Hugeness is the mother of all pissing matches. He probably claims to be endowed with 9" when it’s only 3, too.

This article is misleading and your headline is flat out wrong. Even if he says he has “assets of $9 billion” that doesn’t mean he is WORTH that amount. Net worth is assets minus liabilities; for all we know he could have all of his assets mortgaged or pledged against debt leaving him with little to show for a “net worth”

I suspect that, if his statement focuses on assets it means he is NOT worth that amount but is trying to bamboozle people into thinking he is.

Yes, and that doesn’t equate to no 9 billion! That’s for sure!

The Rump’s true value, if there were any justice in the world and his serial bankruptcies were charged against the total, would be negative $3 billion. If you counted his total net detriment to humanity, negative $3.5 billion.

The Donald started out with 19 million and a credit line every NYC developer would die for. Eventually he went bust in the 80’s I’m thinking. Imus at the time said Trump went from the back seat of his limo to the front seat. Eventually he wised up and played an angle not too often heard of and he played it successfully:

If you owe the bank $20,000 and lose your job, you’re in trouble.
If you owe the bank $20,000,000 and lose you’re job, they’re in trouble.

Well, he could, but he doesn’t believe in banks and doesn’t trust his mattress. So the badger on his head is the perfect hiding place.

He is a legend, the smartest guy in the world, and would be a better president than Lincoln and Washington put together (in his own mind).

Before claimed $5-6B but had to admit it was $2.7B, now he claims $9B so using his math it will turn out around his original $5B… guess he counts all the businesses he bankrupted as profits… This is just more of Liar, Liar Pants On Fire…

Donald Trump, solution to the paradox:

How can you be worth $9 billion and yet be completely worthless?

I , for one, am not looking forward to listening to the bullshit for the next 16-18 months .

Sorry Donald: Still not enough…thankfully, and that is in a pool of truly godawful and despicable competition.

Just because someone has a certain amount of money doesn’t mean he is WORTH that amount. Trump isn’t worth a plug nickle.

For those of you who are biblically inclined [not me], Leviticus says: “'If your valuation is of the male from twenty years even to sixty years old, then your valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver.”
