Drunk?
One of my FB friends, who actually has been a pretty good friend IRL, is a fervent Trump supporter and has been pretty much since Trump announced. He sees the writing on the wall and he’s already demanding that Trump run third party. I think the calls for him to do so, no matter how quixotic, will only grow louder as the party continues to threaten to sink him at a contested convention.
Trump’s is in HOT water with the right to lifers and for backing out of that pledge.
Not that his supporters give a shit.
I don’t know. Rinse speaks many languages- the languages of punchable faces, the punch drunk and just plain drunk. So he should have the support of mainstream GOPers and their candidates.
“Nice convention you got planned there. Be a shame if something happened to it.”
If Priebus didn’t have El Chapo there with him, I’m not sure what he’d have hoped to accomplish.
I believe your friend is absolutely correct - Trump will destroy the GOP one way or another - either as the nominee or as the shunned nominee wannabe
But they made that bed, they built that monster, they fanned the flames of that segment of the electorate that was ripe for a Trump so I have NO sympathy for their demise.
Liked for “face punchability”.
Sometimes when you need a good laugh, the comments on TPM are the place to be. I appreciate the opportunity to enjoy bad, crazy news, GOP / TP news this way. The good news is that the GOP / TP are only bad news, and you don’t win friends or elections that way, only enemies.
Just had a very nice meeting with @Reince Priebus and the @GOP. Looking forward to bringing the Party
together — and it will happen!

Yep… he will bring the party together… much like the cyclone action of the turds in the toilet bowl right before they go down the drain.
Trump’s supporters aren’t motivated so much by a hatred of Dems and liberals, as by anger at the Republican establishment that has taken their votes for granted, and given them nothing in return but unfulfilled promises (e.g., “repeal Obamacare!”) for decades. To them, the difference between Democrats and Republicans like Reince Priebus is one of degree, not of kind. So, yeah, they’re willing to burn down the whole GOP over Trump’s nomination, since they effectively have nothing to lose.
I really have to disagree here. They despise President Obama with such a blind rage that it was the one thing that they actually have in common with establishment Republicans. Did you see the clip of. FOX talking head talking wistfully about how, before Trump took over the news cycle they could just “hate Obama” and some other creep answered, “We’ll get back to that.” As though he was referencing to the good old days when grandma baked pies.
They’re mad at the GOP too, but overall, they are just hate-filled and angry from hearing about how everyone but them gets stuff. Wrong, but it what they believe.
Preibus is going to take the lion’s share of the blame, regardless of what happens in Cleveland, for the losses in November. Like…he is going to be singled out as the man who did in the GOP entirely on his own.
And my guess is, he pretty much already knows that, and is just going through the motions. Sort of punch drunk at this point.
I suspect the meeting was basically Trump saying either the party unites behind him, or he will destroy the party entirely this fall. That threat is the only leverage that Trump actually has. And there seems to be increasing talk about some of the pledged delegates balking at sticking with Trump anyway. Definitely changing votes after the first count, but possibly looking to do so before then. Not all states let the candidates choose their own delegates. Trump wants to squash that talk right away, and will be bullying the RNC to stop following the rules that are allowing Cruz to poach state delegates he had already counted as his own.
Probably much like the first meeting of Henry and his monster, it was also “very nice”.
If butt munch david gregory can re-land a gig on TV, anything is possible with weasel-dick Priebus.
Trump: "It was a beautiful thing, a really classy meeting. I explained what Rinse…Ronce…uhh…whatever…could do for me and he asked if there was anything else. Then he backed off the table and pulled up his pants. Classy guy! I enjoyed the meeting. ___ Only thing that was puzzling was why he kept saying, “Is it in? Is it in?..Dunno’ why!”

Who took whom to the woodshed?
“Nice political party you have here, shame if something were to happen to it.”
