Discussion: Donald Trump Projected As Winner Of GOP New York Primary

What a picture.

My only comfort is knowing that Trump´s extravagant attempts at avoiding aging will ultimately be for naught.

The surprise so far is that Hillary is nearly as far ahead of her competition as Herr Trump. I guess trusting the banks to break themselves up didn’t poll well in New York.

Sure didn’t in NY county — 32 points up … Bronx … 39 points …

I am not hardly surprised by this victory.

I mean, for whom else was any self-respecting registered GOP voter going to cast a vote… the governor of Ohio, a candidate of openly and publicly disparaged New York City values, or a guy who has an awful, lot invested in the city?

Trump was the obvious winner.

IDK, Cleveland is a four or so hour drive for Buffalo. I don’t think Ohio is disqualifying.

Yeah, he won big, but am taking great pleasure that Kasich is beating Trump in T’s own backyard, Manhattan. Even if it doesn’t hold (now w/ 80% of vote in), it’s gotta be embarrassing. If he could be embarrassed…

Kasich is the competent one…retrograde in many respects, but I’d expect him to do well in urban areas.

Kasich’s losing big (by 40-70%) to Trump everywhere in urban NYC except Manhattan (where he’s ahead by about 2%, 400 votes).

How right you are.

Had I been a self-respecting Republican, I would have abstained from the vote. As a New Yorker, the notion that such an overwhelming percentage of fellow New Yorkers fell prey to this charlatan buffoon, a man of zero principles, gluttonous insecurity, and the manners of a hellion, unnerves me to the core. For months going forward, perhaps even years, I will look skeptically at every subway rider, at every movie patron, at every sidewalk passer-by, wondering, “Did that person vote for Donald Trump? Really?”

I believe the only remedy for my suspicious discomfort will be a landslide victory by the Democratic candidate in November, and the delight I will experience watching Trump acknowledge that he is the decade’s newest and biggest loser.

Sooner or later his wife will have to talk with her foreign accent and the anti-immigrant people will burn her at the stake.

Oh, not just there.

I resent broad, patronizing, idiotic generalizations from career politicians pretending to harbor “Christian values”. And a lot of Republicans do too.
