Discussion: Donald Trump Chooses George Pataki As His Latest Victim For Twitter Insults

Discussion for article #240427

Uh oh, isn’t this what got Rosie sued? Trump freaks out (aka sues) over claims that he filed bankruptcy. His corporations are distant from him so in his mind he bears no responsibility.

Judge: Is the defense ready to present its case?

Defense attorney: Yes, your honor. The defense calls Times v. Sullivan.

Judge: Case dismissed.

He’s insulting a vapid nobody like Pataki? Why not just insult a sheet of wallboard? I can’t wait for him to start going after Kasich, who is an even bigger phony than Scott Walker. And I think it just might happen at the upcoming debate.

Headline Correction: Pataki a TARGET, not a Victim. Please, TPM…

I wish I could believe that the DNC was smart enough to have recruited Trump as an agent provocateur. Since I don’t believe that, I’ll settle for Trump doing the DNC’s business for them better than they ever have themselves.

Oh, and I also look forward to any debate I can get pitting the Orange Combover against either Hillary or Bernie, either one of whom could dismember that narcissistic egomaniac without breaking a sweat.

Your question is a good one. The answer to it is one that I hope someone, anyone (as Pataki does) would use against Trump: he’s petty and a bully, targeting people he believes to be beneath him; how that approach to human interaction would go over during negotiations with the heads of other sovereign nations is one worth contemplating.

yes. going for the low hanging fruit. does not matter to the dumpster. as long as he is in any story, it is good for the brand.

OK, about time somebody started going after Trump’s bankruptcies.

Because Pataki directly trolled Trump on Twitter. And in so doing, he gave voice to something that we all know, but isn’t being discussed too much…that the establishment not only isn’t going to vote for Trump, they positively detest the man. Trump is completely unable to resist being trolled.

As for Kasich, my guess is, he will be baiting Trump, trying to instigate an attack, one that he will be well prepared for. Kasich wants to hit a number of newsworthy one liners in these debate. And fighting Trump provides him the scenario to do just that.

You didn’t seem to have a problem taking money from Trump to help get yourself elected. You brought the right wing wacko’s to the party. . . . now goddamnit you have to dance with them. To quote your fellow governor ā€œSit down and shut upā€.

An Expert on Bullying Explains Donald Trump’s Mean, Consequence-Free Rise

Jaana Juvonen, a psychologist at UCLA who is the co-author of a recent literature review and an upcoming book chapter about bullying, said that Trump seems to tick many of the requisite boxes when it comes to how bullies act. ā€œNot that bullies are a uniform, homogeneous group, but the sort of classic bully is one who is narcissistic, is after power, often charismatic, and therefore popular,ā€ she said. Check, check, check, and check. But she said there’s an ā€œimportant and interestingā€ distinction between being popular and being liked — many bullies may have high status in that their classmates rate them as popular, Juvonen explained, but when individual students are asked if they’d like to spend time with the bully, they respond with resounding nos. This dynamic might help explain some of the personnel shuffling and general chaos that went on in the early days of Trump’s campaign.

Bullies also ā€œfeel really good about themselves,ā€ said Juvonen — a description that certainly appears to apply to Trump. But it’s a shallow sort of confidence. ā€œThey come out looking like they have very high self-esteem,ā€ she explained, ā€œbut one way to think about it is that self-esteem is so highly dependent on the popularity, so if there’s any problem, if somebody dares to criticize them, that might make them more vulnerable … [So] when somebody criticizes them, they attack immediately … they can’t stand that they are being criticized.ā€

Why is a serially bankrupt @RealDonaldTrump who insults Mexicans, Women, Blacks, Jews & POW’s on #2016 debate stage?

Because a very large portion of the political party you belong to enthusiastically supports that serially bankrupt, racist, sexist, bigoted blowhard.

Ain’t democracy a bitch sometimes?

Former Governor Pataki fired the first tweet across The Donald’s bow. Drump’s thin-skinned ego forced him to respond in personal attack mode. You’re right, Pataki is not a polling threat to Trump, but Trump didn’t consider this: Pataki has nothing to lose, but Drump has much to lose in this pissing contest. His hot-air campaign will deflate and fall to earth by a thousand small cuts in its thin fabric balloon.
