Discussion for article #246900
Why Kansas? We donāt want him here.
His penis likely overruled campaign staff wishes he fulfill the CPAC appearance.
Clear message:
I can do anything I want and you will still vote for me.
My third-party-run bone is twitching. The more the GOP establishment takes shots at him the more likely he will jump ship. On the one hand I think the Party is hoping that is the case. But they should have done that months ago. At this point, he could seriously start a viable third party and ruin the GOP for many cycles to come. Any way you slice it, the GOP has baked a shit cake.
They all choked.
He is probably afraid his neo-Nazi friends and white hooded night rider admirers will make a scene, and he does not want to be connected to it.
Jim Lahey couldnāt say it any better.
Not sure the lack of streamlininess will give it lift.
Just wondering but first of all, Kansas is a caucus state and Trump, while leading the polls, has about zero presence on the ground there. That hasnāt always worked out for him. And according to Jim Newell heās not exactly popular with the CPAC crowd in the first place. CPACās reaction was pretty dismissive with that āsends a clear choiceā talk. Interesting.
Very disappointed @realDonaldTrump has decided at the last minute to drop out of #CPAC ā his choice sends a clear message to conservatives.
is it ālove donāt live here anymoreā?
Nah, heās 69, and no one comparable would assume the mantle of leadership once Trumpās mortality kicked in. The Trump Party would be a one trick pony, and sooner rather than later the pony would die.
Translating the press release: fuck you, I canāt be seen with you idiots. Send money and I will come back next year when you traitors canāt hurt me.
The only thing that concerned me about his statement was the last line:
Mr. Trump would like to thank Matt Schlapp and all of the executives at CPAC and looks forward to returning to next year, hopefully as President of the United States.
Bolding mine, of course, but if the prospect of that doesnāt scare the beejeebers out of us, I donāt know what would.
Heād pull the same stunt a year into his Presidency.
On his Presidency.
words have finally failed him?
clearly not his ideasā¦ he has noneā¦
Gawker live-blogged the GOP debate last night from CPAC and apparently they were booing Trump when he came on screen and one fellow said about 300 attendees were going to walk out during Trumpās speech on Saturday. His campaign probably heard this and figured it wouldnāt make good visuals.
Much more fun to have some black kids thrown out of a rally anyway.
What a surprise, the Trump campaign cannot spell Wichita.
Look who the winners of the CPAC Straw Poll have been in the last 10 years. Smart move by Trump. The Kansas Caucus and Michigan primary are way more important than CPAC.
