In “Lucky” Alice Seibold notes that her father asked her if she fought back and if the rapist was armed. He didn’t realize how that’s seen by the victim. This isn’t uncommon.

I think it’s a stupid question but in this case I’m willing to attribute it to him being clueless rather than malicious.

CNN in your desperate attempts to become as batshit crazy as Fox, in hopes of fishing your abysmal ratings out of the toilet, you have now pulled the handle and are watching your once respected media empire as it swirls around that bowl, heading for the drain. Dish pulled CNN over a month ago, due to contract disputes, and I hate to tell you, but I have not even noticed.
