Eric Trump, an executive vice president, was photographed touring the property.
(Not shown: The modest but very expensive Secret Service detail paid for by American taxpayers that accompanied Qusay on yet another Trump-branding expedition.)
“This deal has been in the works for years,” Qusay told adoring investors. “It has nothing to do with my father being the [putative] President of the United States.”
In other news: Uday’s dad, the putative President of the United States, was slapped down by South Carolina in his bid to have the state pick up the tab for the clean-up of toxic waste on a property formerly owned by Donald Trump Jr. State regulators didn’t accept the claim that the elder Trump had “no relationship to the previous owner.”
So the separation of TrumpCo and the presidency continues unabated, without any apparent conflicts of interest.
Oh, come on! We all know the DR is not really a foreign country.
So, who did not see this coming? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
The deal went south, ended in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit with a confidential settlement and no communication between the parties. But now, suddenly, when one of the parties has become president, a coincidental entirely-unrelated series of event that no one can point to not only make the deal viable again, but also retroactively make it never have gone badly in the first place.
Uh-huh.
Bye - bye EPA —
Welllllllll
where the F are Chaffetz, Issa, and Louie Gohmert- Pyle? Oversight, anyone?
Crime pays.
Especially when the chief executive does it.
