Discussion: DOJ Will Share Additional Docs On FBI Informant With Gang Of Eight Next Week

If members of Trump’s own party are disagreeing with him on this, why does DOJ have to share anything?

No kidding. The Republicans have burned them pretty recently.

Trump will just move on to another false complaint and criticism.

He has a limitless supply.

Lying whiny little bitch.

ETA: As with everything else, it doesn’t matter what’s in the documentation or what the facts are. He just needs something to distract and divert attention and complain about and to plant seeds of doubt and suspicion against his “enemies” (the United States justice system and others).

Paul Ryan stated just yesterday he believed in the rule of law. His actions belie his words.

They seem to be going to a lot of trouble to make sure Nunes does’t see stuff like this now.

Tide has turned? But can Repubs control Pres Pence, his flank’s pure Theocracy.

So which of the four republicans is going to leak everything?

So ‘sharing’ will just prove that the FBI was just doing their job? Protecting the country from enemies within?

Charles M. Blow had a very good column about this very idea in today’s “failing” NYTimes

Since this bs storyline lost its value for Trump, I’d speculate that what’s going on here is that Rosenstein is trying to cement a precedent and process that all future demands stirred up by the likes of Gaetz and Nunes automatically go through the Gang of 8. Rosenstein wants Dems involved and he wants Senators from both parties involved. Rosenstein is rewarding the Gang of 8 for showing good faith in slighting Trump and Nunes. The value of the last confrontation is that Adam Schiff led the way in putting a stop to Trump overreach and re-established the principle that a subject/target of a criminal proceeding does not get to see the evidence against him/her until indictment. This should help Rosenstein stave off future attempts to threaten his job. The more I think about it, the more I think it’s quite a shrewd move on his part that strengthens the norms and institutions protecting the independence of the DOJ.

Could someone at the DOJ do the least amount of due diligence and provide Nunes with a slightly altered set of documents so we can once and for all call him out for leaking classified information and remove him from office?

Something to keep in mind - Mitch (and Ryan?) were part of Gang of Eight when briefed in 2016 - the one where Grassley and Feinstein came out pale.

I presume “we’ve gathered some intel from the Trump campaign” might have been included in that briefing.

So -

  1. This is all Kabuki
  2. IMHO #MitchKnew.
