This is like saying your not responsible for theft because you sold off some of the stolen property.
Won’t hold water.

Proof that the Trump DoJ is not independent.

I fail to see the DoJ’s interest in this case. As far as I know, it’s not being prosecuted by an Attorney General.

If this is another case of them intervening on behalf of Trump, then this, again, violates the firewall that’s supposed to exist and I call on Mueller to add this to his already overflowing list of investigations.

Same moronic theory that they couldn’t have colluded with Russia if they weren’t successful.

How does tRump selling off a problem asset clear up his bigger problem of STILL making money off his government position?

I don’t know, ask Papadapolous.

Breaking News: The Department of Justice has undergone a “rebranding.” It will now be known as The Department of Injustice.

I think the DoJ is actually defending the grifter-in-chief.

They added: “This development undermines the hospitality Plaintiffs’ reliance on alleged competition with the Trump SoHo to demonstrate standing and is further reason that this Court should dismiss the Second Amended Complaint.”

I could not figure this sentence out until I looked at the letter. Apparently, the “hospitality Plaintiffs” refers to those plaintiffs who are in the hospitality business, i.e., hotels and restaurants. Even if they didn’t have standing any longer, it would seem to me that other plaintiffs might.

What an arrogant prick.

Absolutely. It should not be defending him. He should be represented by private counsel that he pays for himself.

Ridiculous. Hell, the DOJ defending Trump should violate the Emoluments Clause.

Also, I thought the DC hotel was still a part of the suit. It may have been removed but seriously what the hell is DOJ doing?!?

They aren’t selling because of a potential conflict of interest, they are selling because they are losing their asses.
