The chief law enforcement officer of the US just told a group of people who are already immune to prosecution, to “have at it”.
“Technical assistance and support” = more military gear
It’s the party of the proletariat!!
Sessions followed up the DOJ announcement with a two-word memo to Police Chiefs and County Sheriffs nationwide: “Open season.”
Taking care of those white working class Americans all day every day!!!
To quote Trump, you’re an “idiot” Sessions.
Sessions was savaged by Trump verbally, but it was worth it, because he gets to kick African-Americans and other minorities. An opportunity he just couldn’t give up as a man of truly no character.
What they’re undoing will also be undone. Can’t wait for the next Dem Administration.
The same day a St. Louis police officer who said (on tape), “I’m going to kill this motherfucker”, and allegedly planted a gun on the man he shot dead goes free…yup, sounds about right.
In response to the DOJ announcement I offer a far better alternative.
Spoken like a true son of George Wallace.
Coretta Scott King saw it and spoke/wrote truth about Sessions in the early eighties. Sen Warren got shut down and ridiculed for repeating that truth during Session’s confirmation process. But the GOP persisted. Sessions embraces and acts out on that truth in the worst ways - and the GOP owns it. Sure whine when Trump is called what he is: a White Supremacist. But listen to his words, and watch his AG’s actions.
Thanks, Jill. Thanks, Susan.
To their credit Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) then read the letter. Additionally, Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) read parts of it.
Since the Obama program was voluntary, seems to me that the departments signing on had identified a need for that program.
But, carry on with your efforts to help police kill as many unarmed US citizens as the terrorists do. MAGA and shit, right?
You good with this, Jill Stein?
I live and work in the St. Louis area, and was talking to a number of social service agency people yesterday - both black and white - after the Stockley verdict was released and the protests were starting. A lot of grief, sadness, concern, fear, frustration, anger, as there is with every similar case. And wondering how to counsel and work with clients and those whose life situations offer little comfort and hope, when this kind of insult is added. And how to talk to and protect one’s own kids and family. And discussion just about the reaction by those in authority to the expected protests, and how that effects people of color. This move by Sessions is definitely not what is needed if our country is going to move forward. But, I guess that’s the point - let’s go backward full speed.
You might appreciate this then:
I’ve heard about “The Talk,” but I’ve never seen it spelled out so well and so heart breaking/
LOL you know I saw The Police back on their first US tour. We only went to see the warmup act, English Beat. The Police came on and they totally sucked so we walked out.
Of course she is!!
It doesn’t affect her overweening white privilege.
Indeed the he’s were allowed to do so. I am glad they did - as it got it into the record, multiple times, as was the shutdown of the “she”.
OT I’ll bet Ku Klux Keebler hated this.
