If there is one man and one agency we can trust to get to the bottom of this horrible crime, it’s Secretary Sessions and the DOJ.
Said no one, ever.
“Images of his mutilated body in the casket gave witness to the depth of racial hatred in the Deep South”
Just as the ongoing mutilation of our democracy, our governmental institutions and systems and our Constitution by Trump and the GOP give witness to the depth of continuing racial hatred in Amurikkka.
Sometimes it feels that we haven’t come that far…
If this DoJ is reopening the investigation, it’s probably to say Till killed himself.
Yep. Or maybe yet-to-be-born Barack Obama had something to do with it. Hillary definitely did.
This is an attempt to paint Sessions as non-discriminatory …
We’ll hear about it every time the DOJ ignores discrimination … in the future —

Reopening the Till case after 60 years, after his mother and other close family that should have felt the victory of Justice are dead. After the “white” people who murdered him & cheered his murder have lived full, free lives.
This has nothing to do with justice
Sen. Doug Jones, D-Alabama, introduced legislation this week that would make the government release information about unsolved civil rights killings. In an interview, Jones said the Till killing or any other case likely wouldn’t be covered by this legislation if authorities were actively investigating.
Which stands in stark contrast to what Congressmen Paul Ryan, Devin Nunes, Bob Goodlatte, Jim Jordan, and Trey Gowdy (with the connivance of Donald Trump) are continuing to get away with, without the fig leaf of any proposed legislation that authorizes the release to one party’s House Committee members, of the evidence and details of an ongoing investigation.
The evil bitch who started it all, then lied for decades, needs to spend be rest of her miserable life in prison.
Beat me to it. And bless his mother Mamie forever for insisting on the open casket so the world could see what those disgusting thugs had done to her baby, what endemic racism had done to her baby. She 's one of the heroes who, pushing beyond her grief, helped ignite a movement.
Just like Trump’s celebrity requested pardons of Jack Johnson and the woman represented by Beyonce - “Look how merciful our king is to the dark-skinned ones - how could anyone accuse him of holding hatred in his heart?”
Edited to note that these are the ONLY pardons he has granted that had anything to do with actual injustice.
