Discussion: DOJ Preps To Interview CIA Officers As Part Of Barr's Review Of Russia Probe

Likely no and they don’t care as Barr has told them to violate all norms, laws, etc. to get to Pravda, I mean, the 'truth".

Barr needs to be disbarred!

Yes, tell us what we KNOW to be the real truth or be fired! Talk!

You;re right, of course. Most people don’t pay that much attention. And IMHO, they shouldn’t have to. But the reality right now is that the Democratic leadership is completely incompetent when it comes to framing and messaging.

…and the GOP runs rings around the Dems. While all of us were proud to identify ourselves as part of the “reality based community”, Dems in positions of power completely ignored what Rove was saying when he used that phrase, i.e. while the Dems are busy trying to understand reality in order to respond to it, the GOP is redefining reality – rendering the Dem efforts pointless. By the time the Dems have a response, not only has the questions changed, the premises underlying the question have changed.

Thank you so much.

Dems should buy a 30 minute time slot in prime time. Lay out their case. And tell viewers there will be a toll free number flash across the screen at a random time (obviously near the end, but don’t say that), and say the first 100 people that get through on the number will win $10,000. Advertise it for a couple weeks.

Unconventional? Yes. Desperate times-desperate measures.

It would be a spectacle only if the interrogation were to be conducted in public. We’’ never know what happens unless a CIA officer is fired or resigns and chooses to go public.

Trump is going after Brennan and Barr is his minion. Brennan will protect the sensitive sources and won’t take any guff from Barr. He has dealt with partisan twerps before.

I would say the CIA people are very smart and any info they want hidden is buried very deep…the betrayal of VALERIE PLAME is still front and centre…they would be fools to trust a political appointee.

they are all cut from the same WASHINGTOND.C. cloth…afraid of looking partisan…WTH, this lofty ideology will get you nothing but contempt from REPUBLICANS,…who the hell is TOM PEREZ… and who hired him.? the DEMS need DEBBIE WASSERMANN…she is fearless.

The Russia-owned fake president and his lackey start another witch hunt to distract. Pathetically predictable.

Yup, the smart ones will take a book deal parachute into the private sector. A raw deal for those who wanted to still be in the CIA, but not much you can do when the President has no compunction throwing anyone under the bus to serve himself.

One would have thought that the Peasant Party would have had some major weight, based on status as peasants alone, in the largely agricultural economy Russia of the time. On the other hand, I figure the bolsheviks were the more organized, slicker, tougher Darwinian player. Kind of like the Peronistas always are in Argentina. Or the Republicans have been since the last of the Watergate Republicans with Integrity all aged out or were primaried out.

The Bolsheviks weren’t really interested in letting anyone else govern. Also, iirc, the mensheviks were a little too communist and not authoritarian enough. (Long ago, I knew a guy who knew a guy who used to be kerensky’s chancellor of the exchequer before leaving the country just ahead of a death warrant…)

Thanks. When I first moved to NYC, we had a good friend who was a Trotskyite, a member of the Spartacus League, and actually complied with their requirement that he spend X number of hours on Lower Manhattan Streets in his neighborhood X number of days per week, selling their Newspaper. We also used to get Claridad, the Puerto Rico Socialist Party newspaper. So I was more steeped in these Bolshevik and internal Revolution divisions and things. 42 years its been. But in about Spring,1980, there was a subway strike. My friend and I both had daily commutes to Morningside Heights for school. We agreed to meet for the commute one sunny Friday morning. I would walk to 59th and 10th Avenue where the University had shuttle buses. When we got to 59th, my Trotskyite friend, God bless him, informed me he could not take the bus because it would be crossing a picket line. So we walked to 116th. It was actually ok, if you were accompanied, had good conversation, and kept a brisk pace.

Wasn’t this scofflaw just held in contempt? How is he going to interview anybody if he is in jail? Why isn’t he in jail?
