Pete Sessions district turned blue last cycle

Might be an aberration, but one never knows, do one?

I think ‘The Liberal Redneck’ is onto something here. Fuck that “reach out to Trump and the Republicans” and “let’s not be like them and rise above it” and yes “when they go low we go high” (it’s a great sentiment) ___ hmmm, and let’s see if there’s another route to expanding our base into the ‘great out there’ in Real Murrica’.

I suspect we won’t find out much. Just eight days until Il Trumpo’s coronation, when he will have the entire investigatory team rounded up and shot.

That might work

Not in the America we are used to. But in Trump’s AmeriKKKa…who knows?

I don’t think it is. I know that district.

If my fucking Rep had just had an opponent, he would have lost. I’m still mad that nobody filed against him.

We are getting bluer, even on the state level. We replaced state GOP with Democrats in November. Just a couple - that’s all that was apparently open and had Democrats running, which was a mistake. But we are changing this place. The cities can exert their power = the money is in the cities.

Yes. Otherwise he would’ve been promptly sued long ago for using all the music that artists didn’t want him to use at his rallies. Believe me, if they could’ve sued him they would’ve.

This probe should’ve started on October 29. Now it will be shut down on January 21.

This should be interesting. The DoJ Inspector General has renewed oversight from a bipartisan-supported law that was signed by President Obama in Dec. of 2016, allowing for the Inspector General to get previously denied information from the FBI and others, until the new law was signed. Originally, from what I read, the IG had this oversight, but it was taken away in intervening years to protect various agencies proprietary work and also had the potential to shield them from wrongdoing as a result. No longer, from my understanding, unless Congress allows that…and they better-well have a damn good reason to do so, not based on partisan bullshit.

It will be interesting to see if Comey tries to block anything and run to the GOP-led Congress to protect his shameful statements regarding Hillary Clinton right before the election.

That he didn’t have an opponent was one of the reasons why Sessions was crowing last cycle.

He can gut their funding.

And it will be a bipartisan effort with the far left willingly doing the heavy lifting.

I sincerely hope her show fails spectacularly. I hope her ratings are even worse than the Heilman/Halperin show that preceded her’s. I hope MSNBCs feeble attempt to be Fox Lite blows up horribly in their faces.

That’s what I thought. I didn’t remember for sure but now I do. He would have lost if he’d drawn an opponent too.

Our Democratic Party is very active but that should not have happened. Alas.

Fuck lot of good it does us now

Maybe. There’s a related article in Reuters this morning (does TPM just not bother to read Reuters?). The former MI6 agent who oppo’ed Golden Showers is Christopher Steele. Reuters tracked down some interesting background on this. One thing that emerged is that Steele went to the FBI with his findings…

Steele’s dealings with the FBI on Trump, initially with the senior agent who had started the FIFA probe and then moved to a post in Europe, began in July. However, Steele cut off contact with the FBI about a month before the Nov. 8 election because he was frustrated by the bureau’s slow progress.

The FBI opened preliminary investigations into Trump and his entourage’s dealings with Russians that were based in part on Steele’s reports, according to people familiar with the inquiries. However, they said the Bureau shifted into low gear in the weeks before the election to avoid interfering in the vote. They said Steele grew frustrated and stopped dealing with the FBI after concluding it was not seriously investigating the material he had provided.

I like this so much and I’m so glad you posted it.

I’m really tired today of every bit of good news getting cold water dumped all over it by someone.

No matter the outcome of the investigation, perhaps Trump can reward Comey with a grand title in the Turnip Freakshow Admin. and even create a new department for him …hmmmm, perhaps Reichsführer of the Schutzstaffel? Yeah…that sounds appropriate.

Thanks for posting this. I think I just saw a chyron stating that Steele has had to go into hiding because of threats.
