I like Bob Menendez. He’s a good dude. But he’s up for reelection this year and his seat will be safer than safe. So he really just needs to announce he’s not seeking reelection and pass the torch to someone else.
I read and re-read the prosecutors’ case and could not find a single thing to convince me he was corrupt or anything more than effusively friendly with a fellow Dominican who might have been unworthy.
