Discussion: Dodge City Sends Wrong Polling Location Info To New Voters

How very Kobachian of them…

Kobach, and his local allies, really, really, really, really do not want folks to vote. And if one does vote while Hispanic, I am sure Koback will have excuses ready to disenfranchise those votes via shammed up accusations of voter fraud.

Thanks for keeping a hot lamp of light/attention on Dodge City vote-shenanigans.

27,000 residents with only one polling place? Could Kansas make voting any more impossible?

ETA. In Cook County 700 voters is a large precinct.

Another documented case of voter fraud perpetrated- by the GOP, the TRUE voter fraudsters.

Forgive me if I repeat myself.

There are still a few days before the election, time to re-double our efforts. Re-double because now is the time GOP operatives roll out the big lies try to sow confusion. Happens every year.

Contact your local Democratic Party and work to get out the vote. Volunteer at a phone bank or go doorbelling. There is NO better way to exercise Democracy than by going door to door and talking with people. And few things will change a MAGA voter’s opinion of Dems than an offer to get them to the polls.

Go door-to-door getting out the vote. Help people fill out their ballots and get them mailed for states with mail-in ballots. Help drive people to the polls November 6th if necessary.

We’re getting down to the wire- DON"T GIVE UP!

VOTE!!!

I’m still waiting for a mistake to be made that potentially disenfranchises white, rural voters. Just one example would do.

So in most places, telling people a false polling place is the kind of thing you go to prison for.

Just sayin’.

Just watch what happens when they finally reach the voting precinct with too much melanin on their skin.

Just fyi this is not a “snafu” it is the latest act of “corruption” to diminish the Hispanic votes. If the media can just call these things out for what they are you can take back the real narrative.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — After moving Dodge City’s sole polling site outside city limits, county election officials sent newly registered voters an official certificate of registration that listed the wrong place to cast a ballot in the midterm election — the latest election snafu to surface in the iconic Wild West town where Hispanics now make up the majority of the population.

Calling this disinformation a snafu is akin to calling Brett Kavanaugh a misogynist. It was not a mistake. It is the defining feature of the GOP.

Why does Kansas elect GOP crooks? To commit more crimes?

OK Kansas, just go and try to convince the world that all this is not a deliberate effort to suppress voting. Just try!

Well, I suppose that they could create a mine field around the polling place.

I’m expecting a huge sinkhole under the polling station combined with an ‘unfortunate’ road closure, a hazardous waste spill nearby, and a day-long stomach flu affecting the poll workers.
The Rethuglicans are working overtime to stop these voters.
Can we get a redo on the Supreme Court’s Voting Rights Act decision? I dare Roberts to say problems affecting minority’s voting rights no longer exist. Cures after the fact are completely inadequate.

Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s office said in an emailed statement it
has no control over the decisions of most Kansas counties, with the
exception of the state’s four largest counties where he appoints the
election commissioners.

AHEM… (clears throat)…

Local election officials are now scrambling to notify newly registered voters who might be confused by its official registration notice that listed only their regular polling site cover their caught asses.

Moving the polling place out of town ans sending the wrong address to newly registered folks is no mistake. Kobach will do anything to suppress democratic votes. We know this

What Kobach ought to do, since they won’t put out several polling places across the city. is arrange free bus rides to the site. And the bus stop a mile away just won’t cut it.

Dont know which is worse … Kansas voter suppression or Georgia voter suppression. As Secy of State, it should be mandatory they step down as Secy overseeing elections for a race they are personally involved in.

Ohio Republican Party slate card contains erroneous voting information

There’s one problem – voters aren’t actually allowed to turn in their absentee ballots at polling places in Ohio. If a voter were to show up at their polling place on Election Day with a completed absentee ballot, they would have two options. One they could travel to their county board of elections headquarters and turn it in there. Or, they could stay at their polling place and cast a provisional ballot, which wouldn’t be counted until three weeks after the Nov. 6 election.

an outpouring of money and volunteers after widespread national coverage.

Thank you TPM for the first decent article I have seen on this in the “national media”. I am joyed by the fact that 600 volunteers and now buses will help transport 13,000 voters to the isolated site down a 2-lane road. If I was local, I would be out there ferrying folks, Repub and Dem, to this ridiculous polling place.
