Discussion: Doctors Find Brain Abnormalities In US Embassy Victims Of Cuba Health Attacks

I visited Cuba in the month before President Obama visited there, and in fact I rented an apartment just down the street from the US embassy. so I have followed this weird story from the moment it came out, and it just gets weirder and weirder.

I tend to believe the Cuban government assertions that they had nothing to do with whatever happened, largely because it seems unlikely that they have some new, secret technology that could cause this effect, and that they have managed to keep completely hidden from the world. And they invited the US to bring in any experts they wanted to investigate.

Still, what the hell?

Doctors treating the U.S. Embassy victims of mysterious, invisible attacks in Cuba

Yes, we don’t know what’s causing the symptoms, but we know they’re attacks.

That’s some fine journalism, right there.

I still think it’s Russia trying to put the brakes on the US re-opening relations with Cuba…

One possibility is that the attacks were something else, and the sonic disturbances are more in the way of sympotoms.

I agree, but I also think Tillerson is correct. Cuba is a very small island with an intelligence apparatus that makes it very hard to believe they have no idea what is happening.

It seems that someone is experimenting in Cuba with a new weapon and some in the Cuban government know who they are and what it is.

I’m certainly no expert on Cuba but it’s my understanding that not too far below the surface are deep philosophical divisions within the Cuban government. Raul representing those who want to ‘reform’ the government and economy and be more open and those that were Fidel true believers who seek purity in the revolution. The Fidelophiles are the ones meddling in Venezuela.

My speculation is that the Fidelophiles are behind this and Raul, et. al. know who they are but believe for whatever reason (maintain the coalition that keeps them in power?), they are unable to act against those involved.

There was nothing in this for the Cuban government. Fidel is dead and Raul is now the man. Raul is a Castro but not as hardcore as his brother and recognizes the “revolution” has not delivered much for his people. A resumption of economic activities with the USA, despite Raul’s reservations, was the way to go. So he went for it. It makes no sense that he’d sabotage months or talks with the USA after getting what he wanted. So who’d gain? Russia. They’ve been trying to regain their position in Cuba but the Castro / Obama deal put the brakes on that. They’d gain and the MO is classic Soviet shit.

“It’s the most specific finding to date about physical damage, showing that whatever it was that harmed the Americans, it led to perceptible changes in their brains.”

Are you effing kidding, AP? It shows no such thing unless you a) have done the same exams on US embassy personnel around the world and found no such abnormalities, and more importantly b), have done the same exams on US embassy personnel in Havana before the alleged attacks and found no such abnormalities.

Yes, I’ve been thinking the same thing, wondering if some sort of poison or neurological toxin could be the culprit.

But who would do such a thing?

So who’d gain? Russia.
[/quote]I agree with your analysis. Russia would gain in the sense that they would keep the US from establishing a closer relationship with Cuba. There is nothing economically for them to gain from Cuba. And in fact, there are deep resentments in Cuba against the Russians who pulled out and caused great suffering and near starvation when they ceased their economic support.

The Cuban citizens are eager for a stronger relationship with the US, so between this bizarre medical issue, and the Trump administration which is trying to destroy every Obama initiative, the renewed friendship is totally messed up. It does seem interesting that Russian interests and Trump’s interests seem to coincide, eh?

We have been warned repeatedly about zombie attacks, and we have made assumptions about what that would look like. Now we know that those assumptions were wrong.

Russia, I would imagine. We already know Putin’s administration likes to use poison.

This has got to be the weirdest story in a very weird year.

I wouldn’t rule out North Korea.

My money is on Russia or NK experimenting with some new weapon in Cuba with the cooperation of rogue elements in the Cuban Intelligence Directorate.

You’re thinking it’s some kind of virus that only infects very specific nationalities?

Being facetiously naive there. This is Putin’s calling card. He likes to let you know he’s got ways to mess you up you never even dreamed of.

Not out of the question. After all, there’s Trumpism.

Kind of out of the question if you’re talking about biology. America doesn’t have a specific nationality to work with.

You’re clearly one of those leftist anti-'Murcans. It’s all those illegals and dark people who aren’t the same nationality as the rest of us. Oh, and the queers.
