Discussion: Docs Show Trump Still Tied To His Business With Assets In A Trust

His business assets and the Russian election interference connection are the two things on which he is obviously most vulnerable. Keep the pressure on these prime issues and don’t get too distracted by all the other nonsense like his hair cream causes mental illness.

Though perhaps not technically illegal, every other President has done their best to avoid conflict of interest situations.

It makes every EO he issues and every bill he signs potentially controversial. For example, getting rid of Dodd-Franks would benefit his businesses now, wouldn’t it? You know, the guy who couldn’t get loans from nearly all banks for being such a welcher.

This revelation about his “blind trust” is… Surprising? “Out of character”? Unexpected?..

Help me out here.

If the Obama kids had a lemonade stand in front of the White House, the GOP’ers would have been screaming bloody murder about it, and clamoring for impeachment.

“Saturday.” The word you’re looking for is “Saturday.”

Ah, yes. That’s it.

Outside this rabbit hole we all seem to have slipped down, this would be more than enough to bring down another politician.

They really hardly put any effort into hiding anything.

The man will stop engaging with his business when someone forces him to do so, and by that, I mean physical force.

So far, I’ve yet to see any evidence that he respects any legal authority other than his own.

Yeah my senators and rep heard about that last night in faxes.

Amazing innit? It’s certainly a new and different approach to the whole presidentin’ thing.

I can see! I can see!

This is about the furthest thing possible from being a “blind” trust, while still technically being structured as a trust. He gets regular reports on profits and losses, and all he has to do is call his son to find out whatever he wants to know and give whatever instructions he wants to give.

The trust is also revocable, which means it is only “blind” for however long that man wants. On the bright side, though, since it isn’t irrevocable, that man is responsible for anything done. In an irrevocable trust, the trustees would be legally liable alone.

Almost feels like they are testing us to see just how far they can go.

Trump believes he’s impervious to any of this. On the other hand, the various investigations of Russian hacking and his “conflicts of interest” have only just begun, and any impetus to protect him will diminish with his poll numbers (and ceaseless feuding).

POTUS many never acknowledge the real world, but its laws apply to him regardless.

I think there’s something to that. They are pushing for soft spots so we have to make sure that there aren’t any and that none will develop, no matter how hard they push.

Nothing like a luxurious, tax-payer funded, two-night stay in wonderful Uruguay to promote Trump’s business interests.
