Discussion: DNI Feels Need To Express Confidence In Barr's Secret-Keeping Skills

“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.”

Anything that Barr does with this will only be further evidence at his inevitable trial…

He’s walking through the desert making noise, so as not to spook the snakes.

The people over in Trumpland are feeling pretty confident too Dan.

It really doesn’t matter what Coats says… the mere fact that the partisan Barr has been given the opportunity to declassify information should be cause for the Democrats to wake up. I am sure for every item Barr does declassify, there were a half dozen more that meet the same criteria he uses, but would harm tRump therefore they will remain classified.

This is Coats’s very tactful way of saying, “I don’t trust Barr” while simultaneously reminding everyone how the process is supposed to work.

I told you: nothing is off limits. They are going to cheat and go fascist in order to win 2020 if it is the last thing they do. This isn’t even close to how bad it is going to get.

Dan I think you have been had. Barr is going to release anything he wants, as long as it props up donnie.

I’d love to hear what Mr. Clapper has to say about this tawdry turn of events…

And what is to keep his fishing expedition from morphing into an Enemies List? A whole slew of people have already been removed by Trump.

Even more, we know this group is comfortable using blackmail – see American Media, Inc., or Trump’s threats to Cohen about his in-laws – and they suddenly have access to all the intercepts, intelligence and tips of all the intelligence agencies?

As DNI, Dan Coats is responsible for protecting intelligence sources and methods. Simply saying “I trust Barr” is a total abrogation of his responsibility.

Yep now is the time for brave patriotic people in positions of power to step forward. So far Crickets

“I am confident that the Attorney General will work with the [intelligence community] in accordance with the long-established standards to protect highly-sensitive classified information that, if publicly released, would put our national security at risk,”

He said with fingers, toes, and eyes crossed.

I’ll bet you a million dollars he’s not confident AT ALL.

So tip toeing and cherry picking though thousands of documents looking for the action words is fine.
Such as:
obama
hillary
biden
comey
FBI
CIA
House of reps
etc etc etc
Barr is already behind on indictments and subpoenas along with jail birds
lots to do lots to do Fox is foaming at the mouth

They have their enemies list because that is what extremists do.

What is revealing is they have set aside “trust but verify” by putting everything into one man’s hand.

edited for clarity

I actually think it’s way past enemies-list-thirty. At a minimum it’s in someone’s head.

It doesn’t matter WHAT Coates says now. No foreign intelligence agency will ever again share information with the United States for fear that their agents, methods, and personnel will be exposed for petty domestic political gain by the Trump Administration.

Putin and President XI must be laughing their asses off right now.

Little doubt, we will hear from him and many other former intelligence leaders.
