My Paiute (athough like many others he deprecates the tribal affiliation) neighbor describes the team’s trademark name as offensive like the “N” word.
So, ¿Jeb?, since the Florida concussion-ball team is named after some cool black cats, should we not be clear and name them the Jacksonville Ni**ers? The you-wish-they-were-yours voters in North Florida would like it, at least.

I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating:
The owner of the Redskins must have failed Econ 101. Here’s what he should do, and he should do this without any encouragement:
Change the team name.
Change the team colors.
Create a bunch of new-name-and-colors crap for fans to buy.
Sit back and make fat bank.
I’d have done that at the first mention of controversy over the name. It ain’t rocket science.

They all have this talent, don’t they, of pissing off one demographic after another? Right now, I can’t imagine anyone but lower-middle income white people without any college younger than 50 voting for any of the Rethug candidates. They make noise about all the youthful support that Paul gets, but I don’t by it, especially after taking a very unlibertarian stand on abortion.

It’s not the first time he’s been tone deaf on race and ethnic issues. Back in 1994 during Jeb! first campaign for governor he was asked what he would do for blacks he replied “probably nothing”. It became a running joke to many in Florida to the point where there were bumper stickers saying “Vote probably nothing” It’s hard to believe any other groups being treated this way but to him all Latinos are Cuban exiles and his Mexican wife.
So says the bleached Aryan Honky.
No kidding, and announce way beforehand and many will buy the old stuff as collector items… Make bank on both ends…

Yeah, a “huge fan base.” Since when? Snyder removes seating from Fedex Field each week so he can claim the stadium is sold out. I live in the DMV. Few fans left, mostly in Northern Virginia and outskirts of MD.
I always thought the most compassionate solution was to take them at their word.
They say they are being respectful of Native American history and iconography. So leave the colours and images and everything visual the same.
Then find the tribe that actually, geographically, best represents the Washington area and rename the team after the tribe. Might even encourage some football fans to learn something.
