Exactly. It does not matter which words even the most eloquent Dem uses, they’re still going to hear whatever batshit crazy they want to hear. I would say President Obama is the most eloquent person I’ve heard speak and they acted like all he ever did was talk about killing white people.
I was not happy about President Obama going on Fox but I saw his point of view. And, as khyber900 said, in times past I thought it was worth a try.
10 years later and I have no more illusions as to what their goal is. How does that saying go - There’s no more education in the second kick of a mule?
My issue with Fox is that they’re a criminal enterprise not a news org.
I was so glad to hear this news.
There are other ways of reaching this audience…like canvassing & appearances in red states & FB (ha!) ads.
But if they are brainwashed for DT & whatever FNC tells them, there is no upside in appearing on Fox.
Yeah, it really did make sense then, but a lot has changed and now it’s just a waste of time. It also provides them with opportunities to undermine our candidates as well as poison voters who are just tuning in to watch the debate. We get nothing from it.
I remember when Obama was interviewed by O’Reilly for the traditional pre Super Bowl interview. O’Reilly kept browbeating him almost in a “don’t get uppity with me” manner about petty things that were addressed in his prior campaigns for office. “How did you pay for college?” “Uh Bill I painted homes just like you did” etc.
If Fox wasn’t state run TV with its former chair Bill Shine running White House communications I’d say fine with a panel hosted by Wallace and Baer. Their viewers ought to be informed about the candidates other than Trump. Some of them probably think Hillary is still running on a ticket with Obama. But now you might as well have a Infowars sponsored debate. “Deep state for $300!”
About time they told Foxys Shrews to Go Away . ( Being Polite ) .
The response from Bill Sammon tells me that Fox needs the Democratic debates aired on their channel more than the Dems need Fox. All Sammon would need to do is tell the DNC to go to hell and call it a day. But, that’s not happening.
They had to give the appearance they was actually considering fox
Fair (as in complexion, e.g., light & blond)
Balanced (as in asymmetrical, e.g., one sided)
Well, FoxNews couldn’t care less, since they hate the Dems so much that…they are begging them to reconsider their decision. How hypocritically Republican of them!
FoxNews Senior Vice-President Bill Sammon actually said - no, really, the fucker actually had the gall to say it! - this:
“We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody journalistic integrity and professionalism,…"
Which just goes to show that even the people who work in the FoxNews bubble are trapped in the FoxNews bubble.
FoxNews doesn’t need the Dem debates. They’ll just schedule some GOP debates and put *“D”*s after their names like they always do.
“a criminal enterprise…” Is there any way Murdoch can be included among those under the law’s shadow? He surely seems to revel in helping dismantle our nation and its institutions.
“Cites New Yorker Article”
Why not cite 20 Years of RW propaganda ?
I’ve got a lot powder on this subject, but trying to shut the hell up for once.
But Bill Shine, who was fired from State TV as an accomplice in the sexual assault cases (plural)… the fact that he is now an aid and ear whisperer to the Sexual Assaulter in Chief is alone enough for the DNC to cancel any FAux debate.
Uh, no, Bill, they are not persuadable. Being a Fox News viewer is, in fact, a stronger indicator that someone will vote Republican than being an actual registered Republican.
Butt-hurt propaganda network says what?
Democrats should freeze out all local Fox and Sinclair affiliates too.
Yep. Democrats should have vowed to not legitimize Fox as soon as Roger Ailes - who at the time already had a 30 year career as a GOP political operative - was named CEO of Fox News back in 1996.
