Discussion: DNC Chair: I Shouldn't Have Used Words I Used On Walker Backhand Comment

Discussion for article #227256

I don’t believe in making excuses for Democrats when they say stupid things, and Wasserman Schultz has said stupid things in the past. But I really don’t think that particular comment warranted an apology. It’s graphic, but it is pretty accurate.

"“I shouldn’t have used the words I used,” Wasserman Schultz said. "But that shouldn’t detract from the broader point that I was making that Scott Walker’s policies have been bad for Wisconsin women, "

DON"T APOLOGIES"

She should apologize for apologizing. She was right the first time.

She used a well-known figure of speech—and a damned accurate one at that.

No apology should have been offered.

Sometimes we lefties are way to PC for our own good. Walker’s a schmuck, but she couldn’t have said that.

Why not? It’s far more polite than the accurate “fucking douche-nozzle.”

She also didn’t say anything she needed to apologize for.

More of that Democratic Courage that brings in the big donations.

I see it as tactical. She’s an out-of-stater with a lot of other races to worry about. As it stood it opened an avenue for Walker’s team to take attention off his record. Don’t let them do that. Standard GOP practice would be to take the back-of-the-hand image as a literal, be oh so very offended and say DWS throws out “casual accusation of domestic violence” or some such rot. By apologizing she defuses that attack before it can be made.

Why offer an apology? let Walker counter with something, anything as a defense.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how you troll.

DWS put the image of Republicans as domestic abusers into the news cycle yesterday, and she got thousands of Republicans to help her do it.

And now, with an apology statement, she’s putting it back into the news cycle.

“Hey, did you hear blah blah blah blah blah Republicans blah blah blah like domestic abusers blah blah blah?”

Oh, poor Debbie, she made a gaffe and had to apologize. Ha ha ha, I love it!

Yes, indeed the right wing is keenly attuned to slights from others.

Why should she apologize? It is the GOPTP that has set the standard for language and accusations and that standard is about as low as it gets. Listen to Fox news for 5 minutes and you will have to really shovel to get to their standard.

Dang, there I was thinking that DWS was just clumsy with words sometimes and now I have to re-analyze for possible Nixonian layers of accusing and denal of accusing all at the same time.

She’s nasty, and she’s tough, and she’s crafty.

Did you know she went out on the stump for Hillary while she was getting chemotherapy for breast cancer? Have you ever known anyone who got chemotherapy for breast cancer? She kept a campaign-appearance schedule during a presidential election.

Back of the hand? I wouldn’t tangle with that woman if I had a lead pipe in each hand.

What Debbie did not address is Walker’s success in managing Wisconsin’s economy. What she did not address is Walker’s popularity with the majority of Wisconsin’s voters. All she’s trying to do is promote this phony “war on women” that the Democrats say is being promoted by the GOP. That is nothing but a lie, and that is all this despicable woman ever does.

See this is the problem, when you make a true comment OWN IT! The apologies make you continue to look weak. STOP IT!

Well, it’s like Lyndon Johnson once said: “let the world know my opponent is a pig fucker”.

“But Lyndon, there is no proof that he is!”

“I know it, but I just want to hear him deny it.”

Oh dear. You sound upset.
