Rachel Maddow had a great segment on her show last night that listed a bunch of the major accomplishments that both Nixon and Clinton were able to get through in spite of Watergate and the Lewinsky mess. BIG stuff. Bipartisan stuff. Stuff that made the world a better place.
Those two guys could walk and chew gum (do their jobs while fighting court/impeachment battles).
Spankee has a complete and total meltdown, during which nothing gets accomplished because everyone is running around trying to soothe the toddler. Not just his staff, but McTurtle and his Gang of Sycophants.
Democrats insist that they want oversight over any immigration-related
money given to the administration, to ensure that it’s just used for
humanitarian aid.
And Shelby knows the only way trump will sign it is if he can raid the humanitarian aid for his wall.
From POLITICO: “Any one senator can now delay the bill for more than a day, which could begin conflicting with CODELs that begin on Thursday evening and Friday afternoon, heightening the urgency.”
The schedule of the Congress seems not that reasonable. It gives every single member the ability to delay a vote, thus allowing partisanship to impede the progress of the Congress. This is not what congress members are elected for.
Blubby wants the money for himself .
Trump would be more amenable to a disaster relief bill if only Puerto Rico would help fund it by giving back some of the $2.1 trillion they’ve been previously gifted.
Speaking of funding …
So Far, $1.57 Billion for Wall Yields 1.7 Miles of Fence

“I want to do infrastructure, something I’m very good at.”
— Toadglans the Mason, stretching the truth, like a chiclet to the moon (and back)
dotard floats the idea of using pentagon funds for the wall; but so far has been stopped.
After all…Puerto Rico already received BILLIONS and BILLIONS and BILLIONS…plus all the paper towels they can catch. Why should donnie give them anymore. They weren’t properly thankful. Jeez.
And Lawrence O’Donnell provided this information on his show:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has put up just 1.7 miles of fencing with the $1.57 billion that Congress appropriated last year for President Donald Trump’s wall along the Mexican border, a federal judge was told.
That’s some really expensive fencing we’re all paying for. This funding is coming from the same jackasses that continue to want no oversight with how they spend our tax dollars. I suspect the remaining private contracts have probably been divvied up among a number of tRump donors through his no-bid spoils system.
Yeah, I saw that on his show too.
This should be shouted from the rooftops – and the 2000 mi of border extrapolated on this per mile price tag.
Might even make a couple of his MAGAts sit up and take notice.
(Oh, who am I kidding… )
OOps, once again someone has beaten me to the punch and I failed to read higher up.
Hey, it’s worth every penny if it makes the folks in North Dakota feel safer…
Yes. But $167,112.30 per foot of vanity wall is a small price to pay for a much-needed ego boost.
I thought about doing the calculations myself and then thought the better of it. I decided there isn’t enough caffeine in the world to get me charged up or pissed off enough today over his stupidity. Its a conscious decision I have to make daily however.
Its actually the bozos that report on him, like he’s a legitimate p-resident to be taken seriously, that tend to piss me off more than trump himself most days.
This is a very good point. Democrats must use to say:
- This is a chaotic, incompetent, corrupt Republican administration that’s bankrupting the country.
- No more money for the wall until you’ve shown us what we get for $1.57 billion.
- Republicans always crash the country.
“Disaster Funding Bill Seems Far Off”
Not in the least, this government and all our legislators are fully funded.
Trump will just argue is that what they are doing is more humane than what they could do that it counts under the “humanitarian aid” section.
There needs to be much more investigative effort on the companies and individuals who the government paid for the 1.7 miles at the cost of $1.57.
You don’t have to be born yesterday to be suspicious of ties between them and Trump. I would venture an educated guess that a substantial fraction of the monies spent so far have largely gone into the pockets of Mar-a-Lago club members.
