Discussion: Director Of National Intelligence James Clapper Resigns

As some others have noted, ISIS is probably all-a-twitter knowing Donnie is in charge. They are no doubt waiting until he is officially POTUS.

I think the briefing will consist of

"Whatever you do, don't press that red button"
 "This one?"

Followed by the end of the world.

On the bright side Michael Flynn trying to dictate to KSA about reforming their religion while simultaneously cancelling the Iran deal may unite the Sunni and Shia around a common enemy.

I would think that Clapper should remain in office until his successor is confirmed. Whatever the perceived quality of his successor is, it’s not good to have a gap here. I assume that someone would assume the role of Acting Director, but still, with so much change-over happening in January/February, this might be one area where some continuity is important.

Well he just told us that Russia did indeed materially interfere with the election. (The WH had to call Russia a few days before the election even to warn it off of its efforts to tamper with voting machines.) So given Trump’s (the old fart’s) love for Russia, how could he do otherwise?

Remember how the Republicans in the 1990s mocked Bill Clinton for his “obsession” with bin Laden? How the PNAC people were focused on Iraq instead?

Remember Wag the Dog?

Yep…don’t ask

When career military leaders start announcing their retirements, do you think it will sink in to the thick heads of the Trumpsters?

A chilling sign of the ominous times we live in: wherein eustace lets slip the mask of lampoon and tells us how he really feels.

Clapper simply does not want to be Director of “National Intelligence” when such a term is now clearly an Oxymoron.

I’ll say this again, guys, ahem - He specifically said his wife wasn’t having this - she is obviously as deeply disturbed as every other American woman I’ve talked to in the last 10 days.

Did they imagine we would just forget who and what the man they just put in charge of us is? Np there is a profound disturbance in the women of this country right now.

I don’t know if the men really understand how profound it is.

You know, perhaps it’s going to take the rest of the world to embargo us, to shun us, to ostracize us, etc., for enough of us to get the message. That said, I feel it’s too late for most of us. I think it’s going to take at least two generations to recover from the damage we’re about to inflict on us and the world. If no nukes are used. That doesn’t even address the severe environmental damage.

Darling, I see nothing good ahead either. I can see a number of possibilities and there are only a couple which look less than apocalyptic to me.

I saw an article yesterday that included an excerpt from Bannon’s Vatican speech where he criticized our govt. for not punishing the banks after the 2008 crash. Also, that he favored splitting investment bank functions from commercial banks. Sounded like a leftie

I’ve been saying for months Trump stole Bernie’s schtick but when Bernie was asked about it he chastised the press for focusing on side shows. It’s fantasy to believe the country would’ve chosen the old socialist over Trump to “renegotiate all the deals.”

Who would be the common enemy?

At this point, after everything that has happened both in Britain and here - I do not believe anyone but Trump was ever going to “win” this “election.”

Quit blaming the victim =- Hillary. It wasn’t Hillary it was Putin goddamn it. His stink is all over it.
