The real story:
When trump found out he was going to lose money on his commemorative coins he had to get the talks back on track. Once he hits the break even point on the coins, he can trash Kim again. The fact that Trump is not being reamed in the media for this backtracking is astounding.
Let’s see, now… Face-to-face meeting between two thin-skinned, unstable narcissists. Hope for a better future, or more like the meeting between Rufus T. Firefly and Ambassador Trentino?
ETA: With Margaret Dumont playing Mike Pompeo.
For Moon, this is like dealing with 2 two year old spoiled brats. He has to do anything he can to come to some kind of agreement that keeps South Korea from being turned into a wasteland, but I don’t think the odds are good. At some point, SK will probably tell the US to go pound sand, it would be better to have an accommodation with NK that doesn’t include the US than destruction.
Despite Kim’s apparent eagerness for a summit with Trump, there are
lingering doubts about whether he will fully relinquish his nuclear
weapons, which he may see as his only guarantee of survival.
Ya think? Has any country relinquished nuclear weapons once it had them?
Actually … yes. South Africa.
I thought that was the case, but had to check.
Yeah, even as I typed I was trying to remember whether they’d done the official thing. Tom Lehrer was no doubt proud…

GOP-Trump-FOX- WE neeeeeeed this photo op- I mean SUMMIT - for the Mid Terms…please
Hasn’t anyone tied Kim’s obsession with McDonald’s back to this theory?
