Discussion for article #222943

It’s unfortunate that a few years of jail time probably isn’t in the mix.

Will this leave him with a “felony” on his record?

or is this one of those odd situation where one does something illegal involving over $20,000 and it does not get counted as a felony?

The article states it will be a guilty plea, not an out-of-court settlement. Hard to see how he won’t have a felony conviction on his record, especially if he pleads “guilty.”

It’s a face only a mother could love…

Why do I get the feeling he’ll plead guilty AND claim to be the victim in all this mess?

He’s going to plead guilty to being prosecuted for political reasons?

So…Alfred E. Newman-Patel has finally agreed that the rules are for everyone! Good for him. Maybe he can enter the fact-based world now, and see the folly of…just about everything else he’s ever said or done!

Hopefully the prosecution won’t accept a nolo contendre. And if he does reach a plea deal by admitting some guilt, the judge should point out that by pleading guilty in court and then going on TeeVee and proclaiming innocence violates the conditions of the acceptance of the plea and he’ll end up back in court. Fuck that guy.

Dear D. D. The folks you associate with really, really deap in there hearts do not like you. You are a shade to dark.

Hey wait a sec… I remember him saying he was innocent?!

How stupid do you have to be to get charged for giving too much money to a campaign in today’s world? He deserves every thing he gets. But you keep on whining, it suits you.

Just a week or so ago, Mr D’Souza was demonstrating on Bill Maher his particularly annoying brand of arrogant, smug self-righteousness and superiority. I think he’ll plead guilty and still argue the rightness of his deeds to the judge. An insufferable prat.

Thankfully, he was seated next to a nun, and he was dealt with as such a prat as only a good nun can. (I shudder at the memories of my own many sisterly smackdowns.)

I’d be surprised if he got any jail time, but hopefully he will walk out of the court house a convicted felon.

That picture just screams “What, me worry?”

So a Republican might actually do jail time? We shall see. They always seem to get away with their crimes.

If he does indeed go to jail I hope its until after the next Presidential election. I really don’t want to hear about another Hillary hit piece by this man.

No doubt! I was thinking the same thing. How stupid do you have to be to be unable to figure out how to legally funnel thousands of dollars to the candidate of your choosing? And an even better question is how stupid do you have to be to risk going to prison illegally funding a candidate who never even stood the remotest chance of winning? Gillibrand mollywhopped Long.

I would hope part of the plea deal requires a full allocution to the charges. If he refuses or tries to mitigate his responsibility, I hope the judge finds that his lack of remorse and unwillingness to take full responsibility necessitates throwing out whatever plea agreement was reached.
