Discussion: Did Police Use Excessive Force Against Ferguson Protesters

Discussion for article #226422

Excessive force?

Oh no way! They just thought somebody was filming Grand Theft Auto and they wanted to be in the movie!

Please somebody ask Goggles or Gomer or Bible Spice this question. I’m sure they’ve got a bullshit answer that is way more entertaining than ANYTHING on TV right now.

Hell, Mr. Kapur , since Congress is in recess until Sept. 7 there shouldn’t be anything preventing you from traveling to Ferguson and providing us with a first hand assessment of the violence there.

Oh for fucks sake.

Really?

Pointing assault rifles at unarmed people in broad daylight and then unleashing a volley of rubber bullets and tear gas is…standard procedure? And we most likely have neither heard or seen the worst of this yet.

It is crystal clear that if police are given military equipment, they go to war against
Americans.

Too many people act like life and the world at large is one big action-adventure war/crime movie. When police officers have this view it makes the world very dangerous.

And of course with the NRA prescribing guns as the solution for everything like a supply-sider recommends tax cuts for cancer, well it’s only a matter of time before we have another situation like Ferguson somewhere else.

Yes, it was excessive force. Just because it is standard police police procedure does not mean that it wasn’t.

Sniper rifles at protesters? Excessive by definition!

This is what this reminds me of. Its sad that in many cases the police brutality really hasn’t changed. santos was my sisters boy friend and i remember this well.

Is the ocean wet?
Is Sarah Palin a stupid, self aggrandizing grifter?
Will john McCain star on the new Me Depressed?
Are rhetorical questions too predictable?
Will Rand Paul say something completely whacked about Ferguson?

I could go on.

When police deliberately teargas peaceful citizens in their own yard, then yes, police are using excessive force.

When police teargas a news crew and dismantle their equipment, even Breitbart.com thinks they’ve gone too far.
