Here’s how far we’ve gotten: even Darth Cheney thinks Trump has gone too far. And Cheney has committed long-drop worthy crimes against Muslims.

Wow. When you’ve gone so far right that even Dick Cheney winces, you’ve pretty much run out runway.

Today’s Republican Party doesn’t believe in religious freedom anymore.

Yea, let them come in so we don’t have to go chase them down over there to beat and torture them…what a dick…

I don’t see this as brought on by principle, or at least he wouldn’t be doing this without better reason.

Cheney is a Bushie: he had to sit out both Reagan administrations as a Congressional rep. for Wyoming, and only came back into Republican government under GHW Bush; and now there’s another Bush running.

There’s also no doubt Cheney has an incentive and a big free opening to boot up his own legacy a sort of statesman, say on par with our other notorious living mass murdering war criminal, Kissinger.

When Trump leaves, recommending his supporters go to Cruz, Cheney emerge again from the crypt, and, assuming Jeb’s campaign is officially ended, lavishly praise both Trump and Cruz, without the slightest regard for there being little if any difference between them on security policy. And Cheney in turn will praised by each of them as a ‘great American patriot & statesman’.

If Cruz were to be elected, there’d be a least one Cheney advising him on foreign policy and security.

It took a journey of 74 years and Donald Trump to find Dick Cheney’s heart.

Maybe David Zucker could get the old team back together and make a Christmas movie out of it.

And yet, firmly in the heart of the base. How’s that for terrifying?

"In a related development, Satan’s Communications Director Tony Snow issued a press release stating, “While His Dark Eminence has been an advisor to Donald Trump’s campaign, he is nonetheless in agreement with his close personal friend Dick Cheney that Mr. Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims is contrary to our country’s longstanding embrace of religious freedom.”

this whole notion that somehow we can just say no more Muslims, just ban a whole religion, goes against everything we stand for and believe in.

But waterboarding doesn’t.

I think Five Deferments Dick would shove his witchlike spawn into the spotlight, but of course would be advising Liz from the shadows.

You are nuts.

CBS This Morning has a piece on this with quotes from fellow R’s shooting Trump’s idea down in harsh words.

He’ll go too far soon enough if he hasn’t already.

I don’t know if anyone else here has read CNN’s report on Muslims in America in response to Trump’s Muslim ban. It should be reprinted here and elsewhere. Link: http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/08/us/muslims-in-america-shattering-misperception/

“You’ve got to set up a vetting process”

As if there is no “vetting process” already set up. Sewing doubt and confusion in every direction is this man’s MO.

Wow, even the merchant of death himself says Donald Dump is unhinged. That’s quite an accomplishment.

Cheney: On 2nd thought, I think we should confine them only to the middle east. We need to be able to conquer/invade them whenever we feel like. My Halliburton stock needs a boost every so often.

I don’t think his comment comes from moral, ethics, or conscience. I think it’s just part of the ongoing Establishment’s panic about losing control over the party/elections.
