Discussion: DHS, HHS Have No Plans To Expand Migrant Detention Facilities

MAYBE YOU SHOULD

MAYBE A PROCESS YOU SHOULD HAVE FIGURED OUT BEFORE ABDUCTING CHILDREN IN THE NAME OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Oh, great, we’re gonna continue kidnapping them and now we’re going to shove more in every cage and hope that the Orange Monster will come up with another whopper to distract people while we’re stacking babies like cordwood.

I feel much better now.

And maybe a state department that could work with Central American countries to try to ease their internal problems which we have created with our war on drugs and deporting gangs to those countries. Oh sorry. Wrong administration. Nevermind.

No plans for new detention facilities. Because they assume deterrence will kick in.

The government is so good at estimating things.

Even though I agree with the goal, it’s obvious that like most actions undertaken by the Asshole-elect’s administration, there has been little or nothing done in the area of planning or execution. Sad.

Lost children, collateral damage. No records kept? When I worked, I worried about losing a document! These so-called human beings are pigs. They shouldn’t be entrusted with taking out the trash.

The only aliens in this matter, pallid caricatures of human beings, currently work in and speak for the White House.

What they fear most, men and women in a wide range of vibrant colors, coming for them. And they should be sore afraid.

It’s crazy how Trump never has a plan B for actualities, when that was probably his favorite method of contraception.

We’re not going to expand our child concentration camps, we’ll just concentrate the kids closer.

Next up: reports of overcrowding, sickness and some of the older teens having confrontations with ICE’s Death’s-Head Unit and each other.

Reich Wing commenters like to complain that ‘liberals’ are exaggerating when comparing policies like this to histories of fascism and genocide. It’s certainly true that no one is being gassed, yet, but the preliminary steps to genocide are already present in nearly complete form and Americans were never big fans of gas anyway.

The real problem for the Republican DHS/HHS/ICE is they (1) overestimated the appetite for cruelty in the general populace as well as some of their staff and (2) were pressed by their impulse challenged leader into rushing things; a little more time to get used to the idea would doubtless make Republicans more comfortable with the approach (or at least a little more adept at ignoring it).

Fascinating piece in today’s Lawfare about why the family separation policy (concerning which there are in fact no policy guidelines) may be illegal as well as immoral: https://www.lawfareblog.com/legal-considerations-separating-families-border.

This is bringing back fond memories of the invasion into Iraq.

After we won, they started planning for what to do next.

And then 6-7 YEARS of fucking chaos in Iraq.

I hate these fuckers so fucking much.

"INFANTS AND TODDLERS

He may have been referring to White House dietary preferences.

We won? I guess that depends on your definition of victory. If you challenge a guy to a fist fight for possession of a 1972 Ford Pinto, and 10 minutes later emerge the winner, bloodied, bruised and missing a few teeth, you’re victorious?

Apropos of a comment to another article by desertdweller, the people running this program, and indeed our current government are all sociopaths. They are little different than NAZIs under Hitler and the followers of Stalin.

It’s so dangerous, we made it 100 times more dangerous, just to show them how dangerous it is.

“We expect that the new policy will result in a deterrence effect and we certainly hope parents stop bringing kids on this dangerous journey,”
