That’s right, Russia enabler. Squawk about the press’s reporting- and totally IGNORE the fact Russia hacked our elections!

Russia hacked our elections and the GOP is silent, they either don’t care or welcome the attack.

Russia hacked our elections and prez Full Diaper eats Cheetos and dreams of mushroom clouds.

Duck and cover? Or run for office?

RUN FOR OFFICE!! Throw these idiotic grifters out on their ears.

DHS’s original statement lacked specifics and so does this rebuttal to NBC’s interpretation so this particular nondenial denial can probably just be filed along with the rest of the smoke and mirrors.

DHS isn’t as concerned about the public trust as they are about generating greater distrust of anyone trying to figure out what the hell they are up to.

“We saw a targeting of 21 states and an exceptionally small number of them were actually successfully penetrated.”

So they’re going with Trump’s sexual-assault defense?

Anybody know the Russian for “Tic-Tacs”?

undermines the ability of the Department of Homeland Security, our partners at the Election Assistance Commission, and state and local officials across the nation to do our incredibly important jobs.

Acting like you get the vapors and need to clutch your pearls every time a minor bit of reporting is in error doesn’t help you do your jobs either.

The only number you can fairly describe as “exceptionally small” in this context is zero.

Anything above zero is unacceptably large.

Is this really so difficult?

What is Russia telling its people?

Certainly we can’t expect any truth from the Trump administration, if we hear anything at all.

The report paraphrased Manfra’s comments as saying “the Russians successfully penetrated the voter registration rolls of several U.S. states prior to the 2016 presidential election.”

A video preview of the NBC interview showed Manfra being asked specifically about states’ voter registration systems being targeted. Manfra responded with a line that was similar to what the DHS has been saying for many months: “We saw a targeting of 21 states and an exceptionally small number of them were actually successfully penetrated.”

“NBC News continues to falsely report my recent comments on attempted election hacking – which clearly mirror my testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last summer – as some kind of ‘breaking news,’ incorrectly claiming a shift in the administration’s position on cyber threats,” Manfra said in Monday’s statement.

So, DHS and Manfra are not disputing that Russia targeted 21 states and successfully penetrated (hacked into) several state voting systems, and that she, in fact, said this in an interview. They problem is that NBC is reporting this as “breaking news”? Perhaps DHS and Manfra want more emphasis on “no votes were changed” - at least as far as their investigation showed evidence of or they are willing to admit.

Let’s see: the interview was last week. That qualifies as “breaking news” in my book. Plus, we’ve got another, whatchacallit, election coming up in 9 months, and we haven’t heard diddlysquat about making those intrusions impossible.

States will do their part in how they responsibly manage and implement secure voting processes.

Not only did they not manage or implement secure voting processes, the GOP secretaries of state, led by Bitch McConnell, ridiculed the idea of protecting voters from Russian interference.

So DHS? Quit complaining and get to work on doing your job!

So we didn’t hear her say what she said which was a line that was similar to what the DHS has been saying for many months?

Got it.

Yup, attack NBC News for reporting on trump’s negligence in dealing with Russia’s attacks on our voting systems.

Huh?

That is the reply of a department that is in way too deep and is thrashing at the water trying to keep its head above the waves - pretending it is floating.

In other words, just another ridiculous and baseless attack on a news network they don’t like. YAWN.

When Trump says the Russians didn’t change any votes you can and should believe the opposite.

The Russians hacked and they changed votes in the 2016 election - PERIOD!

The election results are invalid. Trump actually lost by over 10,000.000 votes and not just by 3,000,000!

Invalidate the election…throw Trump and Mikey to the curb!

The Russians changed votes! The election wasn’t just rigged, they changed the outcome!

Trump and Mikey are illegitimate!

The election result need to be thrown out!..along with Trump and his entire family of dotards.

To quote the UCMJ, “Penetration, however slight, constitutes an offense.”

reading her rebuttal, it sounds like NBC reported the story completely accurately.

I keep wondering how (what evidence, what investigation, …) makes these officials so confidant that nothing was viewed, copied, changed, added, or deleted. Of course, since security is, by definition, secret it is hard to publicize your investigation. But the officials who deny problems project an image that combines a lack of original thinking with an unwillingness to admit failure.
