Discussion: DeVry Sale Bypasses Scrutiny As DeVos Works To Dismantle Obama-Era Rules

The school’s revenue has skyrocketed since Palmer bought it, growing from $1.3 million in 2010 to nearly $10 million in 2015, according to Education Department data analyzed by The Associated Press. The growth has been tied to a rapid rise in enrollment, from 238 students to more than 600, with a sharp increase in the number of low-income students who receive federal Pell Grants.

As a DeVry student once upon a time, I can tell you this is a bad buy. This school went from mediocre to crappy when I was attending 8 years ago.

How do you know you suck at education? When you can’t keep a school that teach Computer and Electrical Engineering skill sets open in Seattle.

Enrollment not quite triples, revenues increase sevenfold. Hmm.

No lobbying required. Well-connected former congressman Vin Weber is known to take care of politicians who vote to keep for-profit schools unaccountable. Former Ed Committee chair John Kline was a pro-school-fraud GOoPer who went into lobbying. He was the reason Obama’s reforms had to be executive orders. Start your search for the money trail with those two, AP. If you actually want to know…

No doubt, if you have a degree from Trump University you’re automatically enrolled.

The impact for students is unclear.
Here. let me help.
Privatize it and a handful of thieves will get rich while the students won’t get the benefits of education comparable to the cost they will be charged. Along with removing regulations to protect them from being ravaged financially.
Simple stuff.
Trump’s University gig did exactly that in the extreme.
