Discussion: DeVos Delays Obama-Era Student Loan Protections Amid Writing New Rules

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is further delaying Obama-era protections for students defrauded by for-profit colleges, saying it needs more time for the students to be ripped off.

Fixed.

In writing the new regulations, the Department of Education will use Trump University as the model for a perfectly run, fraud-free, positive outcome, for-profit institution of learning. Any for-profit school that meets the standards and high bar of Trump U will be considered A-OK and students will be ineligible for student loan relief.

She is one of the worst in 45s cabinet. Truly a fucking bitch. Can you just imagine how she treats her household staff?

The unarticulated major premise of the Republican party is that the American people are dumb. And sometimes they are–but not all the time.

These damned people will do anything, ANYTHING, to further Trump’s anti-everything-Obama vendetta and to twist all things to the benefit of crony capitalism.

Betsy “Scamway” DeVos.

The uneducated fleecing the educated…

Why can’t we just leave it as “she is one of the worst…” There’s no reason to call her a bitch or to mention “household staff”. Whether you meant to or not, that introduces gender as a component of your argument for why she is among the worse. Gender has nothing to do with it. The facts that she has never been an educator; has never had a kid in public school; has fought to break down the barriers to public funding of religious education; has favored corporations over teachers; … all of these are valid points. Gender is not.

This decision was entirely predictable, and it’s also a certainty that the MSM will pay no attention to it whatsoever after 15 minutes. Obviously the Republican Party won’t make it an issue, and lefty blogs like TPM reach a tiny portion of the country, and a portion that’s already persuaded anyhow. The people who need to know about this decision, who made it, and why it was made, are the students and their families. Undoubtedly most of them are relatively apolitical and poorly informed, which is to say they’re average Americans. That doesn’t mean they’re not reachable, though.

So what organization does it fall to to make a big fucking stink about this, starting now?

I get what your saying. However, who said berating the household staff is something only done by women? By making that assumption that that is what I meant aren’t you the one pigeonholing women into certain gender roles such as being mean to the maid? She has a husband and I’m assuming they live under the same roof. I’ll just leave it at she’s nasty. All of your other points in terms of her qualifications are spot on.
