“I was waiting for this. The way things are going, I couldn’t wait to vote,” Nayak said, though he declined to say for whom he voted.
And that’s exactly as it should be. Everybody votes. Because when everybody votes, Democrats win.
If history is our guide (and it still should be) the GOP will now pull out the stops with racism, fear and blatant lies- even going so far as to try to confuse people over the date to vote! They are shameless and will stop at NOTHING to steal another election.
Don’t let the rancid remains of the GOP continue their assault on Democracy.
Get to the polls and take 5 people along with you.
Vote like your life depended on it!
When I was planning to vote yesterday, I did note that the longest wait times in Travis (Austin) yesterday were in conservative areas. It may have just been a moment in time, but something to watch.
In the event that all signs were to point to an even greater than anticipated wave of support is coming out for the Democrats in Texas… what “crisis” / "corruption of the voting process " might be conjured up that would be used to justify invalidating the results? Will we suddenly hear about ISIS hackers who manipulated the voting mechanisms in every precint?
Unfortunately, I think it means he voted for Cruz. Many Republicans know how loathsome their party is but still vote for the imagined financial advantages, as well all know. Also, I’m sure we’ll be hearing about polling sites running out of ballots, etc., etc., on Election Day …
One of the oldest representative democracies on the planet, yet we still haven’t figured out how to hold an election. Shameful.
Pretty sure it is just because they just have more reading issues in those areas that slow down the voting. ![]()
My local news in Wake County NC said early voter turn out so far was similar to 2016.
Saw on one of the MSM outlets a couple of days ago that Repubs were voting in larger numbers than Dems in early voting. Did not read the specifics just the headline claim and it could have been just horse race clap trap but I’m sure it was based on some data even if taken out of context etc…
Chinese dude. Doncha know that the Chinese are hacking into the mid term elections? The dotard himself made that claim so who are we to doubt it?
I know what you’re talking about. It was NBC news and the “data” was based on which party has more registered voters. So: useless information.
Lines were so long yesterday in my part of Dallas that my neighbor went to vote and turned around and came home and said she’d go today. This part of town is Democratic.

Thanks for the info. Didn’t want to waste time reading it because it just seemed skewed and didn’t want to spend any valuable time clicking on the link.
Hopefully your part of Dallas is liberal/Dem leaning.
Mostly. It’s hard because of gerrymandering - my district is more Repuglican but the neighborhood, starting in the middle of my street where the district changes, is heavily Democratic.
But also gerrymandered. However - Dallas is a blue county since 2006. With this turnout it will vote blue.
Whoops, didn’t see that last sentence identifying your area as Dem.
I saw huge lines in my neck of the woods (East Dallas, not the burbs, a very blue portion of a blue county). Will vote tomorrow or Thursday, and am volunteering a few hours as a poll greeter for the county Dems, encouraging straight party voting and handing out “I Voted” stickers.
I am taking of a day of work and working as an Election Clerk on Election Day proper - expecting Presidential level turnout or higher given the early voter turnout. It is just phenomenal.
