The PROBLEM is that with Trump and his ilk, the definition of ‘criminals’ is fluid. ‘Bad Hombres’ on the other hand are likely Democratic brown skinned voters.
The result is immigration courts are filling with defendants like Ruben Moroyoqui, a 45-year-old mechanic in Tucson, Arizona, whose only run-in with police came last year, his attorney said, when he was pulled over while picking up auto parts.
…Moroyoqui entered the country with authorization 16 years ago but then overstayed his visa, not wanting to return home because of the lack of opportunity there. He has four U.S. citizen children and said he has always paid his taxes.
What better vetting could there be than to see how a person has actually lived-in the US for many years?
Moroyoqui is working, has 4 children who are US citizens, pays his taxes, and isn’t a troublemaker. This guy has been a decent American, and likely will be even better if he is given the right to reside and work in the US. If you don’t want to do the right thing for Moroyoqui, because he stayed without authorization, do the right thing for the 4 young citizens and let their dad continue to live with them and support them.
