Put this one in the articles of impeachment… Ordering investigations into political opponents, then lying about it to cover up…

This’ll probably be the most minor transgression from the administration revealed all week…

Sessions and Whitaker lied?

I’m shocked, shocked I tell you!

What a shocker. The political appointees of The Liar in Chief are also liars perfectly willing to lie under oath to Congressional committees.

Feels like the release of this doc as Whitaker was leaving was a ‘don’t let the door hit you on the way out’ type message.

DOJ is so far behind the DOE, HHS, and DHS in terms of being corrupted by the Chief Executive, I don’t see how it could catch up in the time remaining.

“the Justice Department was incorrect when it “swore under penalty of perjury” last year that the letter didn’t exist,”

In other words, the DOJ committed perjury.

You could call it a Witch Hoax

I’m sure Bill Barr is all over this.

If I’m not mistaken, the Uranium One deal was reviewed by the Committee on Foreign Investments. None of the following, who make up the committee, objected: Secretaries of Treasury, State, Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce and Technology; the Attorney General; and Reps of the WH offices of U.S. Trade Representative and Office of Science & Technology Policy. And then the President gets the final word on approving.

So, yeah … let’s investigate the Clinton Foundation - again - because reasons (reasons like going after political opponents and long-time Republican punching bags). And then, of course, lie about it.

When the DOJ lies to its citizens, we have truly become a banana republic.

The DOJ has morphed into The Truth Ministry.

So let me get this straight-

Jeff Sessions has been proven to have committed perjury (AGAIN) when the Department of Justice was compelled this week to release hand-delivered written instructions to secretly investigate Hillary Clinton, which Sessions claimed did not exist.

Clearly and illegally ordered by Donald Trump, perverting the course of Justice and calling into question the independence and veracity of the DOJ.

The likely vehicle for this was Matthew Whitaker, who recently exited the Justice Department in a bid to avoid congressional oversight.

I guess that means this is a weekday in DC.

" Justice Department was incorrect when it “swore under penalty of perjury” last year that the letter didn’t exist, Austin Evers, head of the watchdog group, said in a statement."

That caught my attention…

Don’t worry. No one will be held accountable for lying under oath. This administration does it all the time. It’s no big deal. But a poor kid selling a bag of weed is going to prison for years.

That’s how things work in America today.

Well as Judge Dana Sabrow has discovered the DOJ has no problem with hiding the truth/whole story.

In fairness, this isn’t really a letter ordering a review. This is a letter ordering a review of whether a review of things a member of Congress is demanding be re-reviewed should be reviewed. It’s a cowardly bureaucratic downward buck pass. He might as well have said (and in a phone call may have said) “give me a letter saying you’ve looked at this carefully and find no reason to do anything and then I’ll totally protect you from Goodlatte’s wrath, honest.”
