Trump’s delay in publicly discussing the men lost at Niger did not appear to be extraordinary, judging from past examples, but his politicization of the matter is. He went so far Tuesday as to cite the death of chief of staff John Kelly’s son in Afghanistan to question whether Obama had properly honored the war dead.
This is the critical point. I hope it is covered and repeated in a plethora of media reports. It is also completely consistent with what he keeps revealing about his character. Revolting.
And the GOP choir remains silent…
Where have we gone when telephone calls to families of soldiers dying in action becomes a major political issue. Can you imagine suffering from the loss of a loved one and then listening to regular fighting over who said what in a phone conversation about whether or not a phone call was made and the content of the conversation was?
